Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

How many people have left your team in the last year?

How many positions have been backfilled and how many are being left empty because all the work has been dumped on the rest of your team? I wonder how much money Honeyhell is managing to save by doing this. It's easy for them to say there's a labor shortage and then not even bother to try and fill positions because the current system works perfectly.

As a part of roof top reduction, project "radiation" (not going to use their so called sunshine name) in redmond loses over 100 experienced engrs with product domain knowledge. And lost over 50 to 100 even before that project. Ah but not to worry any warm body can fill in and we will all be just fine, sure. I got out with a 15% increase with another company which is on top of internal promotion to principal level for moving as project radiation. So it is awesome for me.
This also puts a smile on the HR folks from other companies looking to hire experienced engrs. Win win for all but honeybucket.

What team?
Teams are not something honeywell culture promotes or vales.
Never had a functional team here...
Unless you consider a termite hive crossing a river to be a fabulous team effort.
That scene in world-war-z movie when the zombies scale the wall into Jerusalem comes to mind... honeywell teamwork at its best.

Most of the people in my small dept are "lifers" but 1 got vax-fired, 1 left before before he got vax-fired, and 1 left the to go to another dept.

Of the non manager people i worked with daily ... 7 of 9 over last 18 months. All early career people. All by finding promotion and pay increases at other companies. I wrote recommendations for 5 of them. I am late career and not going anywhere.
Cost to honeywell? 1 to 2 million in reverse engineering to recover the knowledge lost to attrition mid product development. That number is probably dramatically underestimated. I only know the hours that were charged to my projects.
