Houston is still in the highest transmission threat level… why are we rushing back into the office?
We just posted record results so we know WFH is working.
So much for basing RTW on science and decreasing trends… and thanks for the 1 week notice…

@2iha Every morning when I make my lunch I mix up some vodka drinks for the buss ride home.
@2iha, Houston park & ride completely sucks unless you're in The Woodlands and possibly Katy - everywhere else is a cluster.
Red threat level or not, get your azz back to the office asap or be fired.
2 years was a nice ride. Going back to 3 days is not that bad. I'm pretty sure if you go on social media of those complaining, they got pics up of themselves at concerts, football games, etc... Once I'm able to find a job where they treat me decent, pay me decent and let me work from home 100% of the time, maybe I'll leave. Otherwise, I'll see you all at the Houston office on Tuesday after Valentine's Day
The Houston traffic is a breeze if you park and ride. Try it!
Oooohh you poor babies! Bless your hearts!
Harris County is still in highest Red Severe Threat Level. Announcing RTW while we are still red with little more than a 1 week notice is disturbing. Should have given us at least a 2 week notice and waited until the threat level was no longer Severe. The 2 week notice is a courtesy to get the employees mentally and physically prepared for the transition of wasting hours in soul crushing traffic.
I pray to God thanking him for 3 things:
Thankful these white collar cuks are coming back in the office. They don't know real work till they have to mop a floor .
Anyone out there want to tell me about that off campus site and putting in OT? I Googled it and came up blank. I might have to ask around at the office...
great timing - come back the same week we hear about our cr---y raise that doesn’t keep up with inflation so we can give our notices face to face with our supervisors
Good thing we’re not asking field workers where to drill wells! We’d be up Schitt creek no doubt!
Plenty of field workers have a high school degree or GED. No shame in that.
Anyone who thinks field workers don’t have degrees is an id--t.
Cron ain’t nothing but a few sniffles.
I keep hearing people post about some off campus site. I might be a little slow but can someone tell me what it is? Its seems like it could be a little less than straight from what I gather.
Omicron infections peaked over a week ago in Texas. As far as omicron goes, well, if you are inside without a mask and in proximity for more than a few minutes, you are infected!
You guys just settle down. Just crack open an ice cold Busch and the pain will go away. Working now days are really tough and depressing but guzzling a beer while sitting in my lawn chair in the garage watching the traffic go by just makes everything seem so much better. If lucky I grab a cigar to make thr experience a bit more special. Everything will be alright.
Wow. You all had 2 years of WFH and complain when they call you back to the office. They didn’t have to let any of us WFH. Take it as a blessing they have allowed you to WFH this long.
Ok, a little bit of rational discussion here. (1) SR is only looking at the California numbers. They view Texas employees as rubes who'll do whatever they're told as long as their paycheck keeps coming in. (2) SR is (for once, proactively) anticipating that Omicron (a) has peaked, and (b) everyone who's going to get it has already had it. As others have mentioned, they are desperate to regain control over their employees. They read too many stories here of people only working a couple hours a day, people having second jobs, and (perhaps most irritating to them) people having their teenagers do the HR "mandatory" training.
Dora’s Threat Level hasn’t been aligned with reality for a v long time and was never based on science. The TMC metrics show that the numbers are rapidly falling. With vaccines and boosters the individual risk for ppl without other issues is negligible… also see the recently released JH report on the ineffectiveness of forced masking and lockdowns.
I just tested positive for COVID today, I wondered if I will be forced to come back in.. I GOT THE MF VIRUS
Typical re----k response "If you don't like it leave". That response is no longer valid as when companies started putting in mask and vaccine mandates that group was screaming for the government to stop companies from doing this and regulation for those companies. What happened to the if you don't like it leave, a company can do what it wants during that time? No hypocrisy thats for sure?
I’m looking forward to the next employee survey
Here’s the nice thing. You have a choice. If you don’t like it, you are absolutely free to leave. Go start your own company and let your employees make every decision for you and your company if it’s that important to you.
Its rednecks that keep supporting CEO and business interests over the worker is what causes all this mess and many problems in this country. Start thinking about interests for the people and not what will make MW happy.
Who cares how much notice was provided? What do you need all the notice for? To put gas in the car and find a necktie?
We followed social distance and mask guidance very carefully, and did not get any of the variance. It becomes a punishment now. Thanks to folks who got it through parties, and telling everyone that it is no big deal, and yes it is because who suffer the severe consequences aren’t able to speak, because they are already dead!!! Even the light symptoms sometimes have long lasting effect!!! The trending positive is due to the home test kit availability but not the real infection number!!
You just onna them whiiiiinin' pretty boys! We should be honored to come in and take care of MW and the company!
And I'm damn thankful is on Valentine's Day.
You all beatniks need to work non-stop. I know its weird but this here re----k believes working is all that matters in life so quit your belliaching and caterwaling about wanting to spend more time for family when gitting that job dun is what matters. Its even better when your company doesn't care a bit about you and your CEO is a layoff addict.
Anyone else find it convenient that this email came out less than a week after the bonus info ....
SR promised 4 weeks in late 2021. In early 2022 they revised it to one or 2 weeks. It stinks but I do feel they signalled appropriately.
In the end I am scratching my head on how they determined it is OK to return. Oh well.
No one ever promised 2-4 weeks. Go back and read the message sent when we delayed Jan 3. It said “be prepared for a quick return” (paraphrase) If your leader promised you 2-4 weeks on their own, that’s their fault. quit whining get back to work and happy Valentine’s Day LOL
Its because MW and upper management are desperate for control of employees so they demand us in to deal with covid risk, wasteful commutes just so we can have some locker room talk with the team. There are some people who must not have a great home life that are non management who want to come in and demand those who don't want to back come in to keep them company. If you are desperate to go to the office head on up there. Nothing is stopping you but don't force the rest in who work just fine from home. If you are out in the field you should be rewarded for your work but that was a career decision so out of jealousy don't demand people back in the office.
“We just posted record results so we know WFH is working.”
Are you so dense as to not understand that the decision to not be a WFH company was made long ago and is not going to change? Are you a believer in the power of prayer and thinking that praying about this nightly is going to change it?
Sorry, 10 days notice.. is that better. Let’s argue over semantics, and not the actual context.
Mgmt had originally promised 2-4 weeks notice.
I agree that this seems rushed based on current data and past promises..
It all defies logic. Harris county cases still very high (though dropping). Deaths high and going up.
The decision was clealy not based on objective standards. My guess is a "we gotta go back sometime" conversation from the top.
Get ready for the great resignation. March 14 it will be a ghost town...
Lemme guess, math is not your strong suit. This is not just a one week notice.
Thanks for the helpful contribution. 🤔 really adds to the discussion.
I knew some clown would be on here acting a fool as soon as the email went out. LOL
