Would anyone know if USB will automatically cash out your 401k to you if it’s under say $5,000 or $10,000 when you leave the bank? I know that some companies automatically send you a check of your balance is under a certain threshold. Wondering if USB does the same.

If it’s under $5,000 they automatically cash it out 4 months later and mail you a check to your last address on file
If you want the check earlier or want to rollover, you need to log into the Alight Rewards portal to select that
No. When you leave any company you will need to transfer your 401k or roll it over to another federally regulated vehicle. There is a time limit but you will have plenty of time. I'm sure it's at least 6 months.
