I worked for Sams for over 20 years. I was layed off Dec 3 and told I would get a severance check AND could file for unemployment in 90 days. The severance paperwork I signed did not say anything about having to wait 90 days. Unemployment stated I should be eligible as of Dec 4. Does anyone know?

What kind of accommodations allows you to remain as greeter??
Or is it up to your manager??
So no more door greeters .. what ? I’ve been on a medical leave
Yes, you can apply I also took the severance and applied for unemployment the very next day
I called to get accommodations. Still working as a greeter.
Greeters? Wasn't that position folded into Membership over a year ago?
As short of people as we are mu club kept everyone even rhe laziest of lazy. Either your club is in a lot better situation or your managers handled it way different.
We were laid off back in November. I applied for unemployment, Medicare, and food stamps the next day. I didn’t qualify for the any of it because I had already found a new job and the new job paid too much. The Walmart severance package with instructions came 30 days later with my severance payout offer. The letter said it could take anywhere from 4-6 weeks to be paid. I did mine online and received my payout direct deposit only 1 week later so I recommend you do that. I started receiving the life insurance, medical, stock, and 401k paperwork right before Christmas (7 weeks after termination). Everything happened slower than expected but easier to handle than I thought. I was NEVER contacted by any persons to offer help, not even the severance team. Just cut off from the company completely. The best part (other than the payoff) was getting control of my phone back once they deleted my profile.
Unless you got a 90 day severance package, I don't see the reason why you can't file right away
I think it has to do with your severance.
No clue. You didn't opt to move to another dept??? At our club, Member Support moved to Frontline. And those that could only do the door, had to call the 1800 to get accomodations. That way they could stay there doing that and go backs. Those type of things.
