The new transformation is a huge mistake: One that management will never undo because they all have too much skin in the game of blowing hot air up to the level above. The Chevron Way is terminated. The new process for the Transformation (developed by Boston CG and committee of yes-men) was the first terrible punch but the death blow was the selection of leaders. They somehow found people who had neither technical credentials nor leadership ability. When you have ineffectual leaders and a rotten process, there is really no place to go but down hill. I've noticed hi-pots making the jump to BUs the last few weeks, like rats jumping off the sinking ship.
It is certainly true that “Most reading posts on layoff sites are current employees" and retirees. They are interested in rumors about important management decisions (including future layoffs) and general discussions about company culture (aka bi-----g). Just about everyone who gets laid off are uninterested in the former employer after a few months because they are looking forward to exciting new opportunities. Only a very few butthurt losers are still trolling their previous employer’s layoff site a year after they were let go! Get a life church lady!

You must be pretty darn insecure to have to troll a layoffs site when you have a secure job or at least no fear of being let go, and plenty of options. That was always the case when I was working up until about a year ago.

It is an anonymous site and you can’t enforce your vision of what you personally wish it was. My question to you, if you have moved on past your layoff a year ago (1-3 years ago?) and are happy with your new life why do you keep coming back here on every thread trying to enforce your personal vision of site content? When layoffs were on the horizon many threads discussed this, but now folks have moved on to discuss other frustrations with company management: maybe it is time for you to move on also. If you were laid off from Chevron year(s) ago do you really have anything new to add to the discussion here? (If you do, great, start a new thread), but if not please bu---r off.
@3mbd, uhh, no, way off point. This is thelayoff.com, a haven for those laid off to seek useful information and also those who are anticipating eminent layoffs to see if anyone has pertinent news. You, on the other hand, don't have an outlet, a place to be or an internet chat group, a life, or knowledge of the internet to find one. I have been Financially independent & self-employed at a for-fun position only for quite some time, so shift your focus on struggling pathetic losers without an internet outlet, career, or a life. That includes those who are steered to trolling others like themselves, clueless, laid off or just pathetic and insecure, Start with yourself.

Most reading posts on layoff sites are current employees wishing to hear anonymous discussion of topics impacting employees or ex-company folks wishing to hear the complaints of the day. During times of an actual layoff, then yes layoff plans becomes the big banana but when there are no big layoffs in sight the topics normally shift to other company related issues. If you expect everyone to stop everything and help you cry in your beer about a layoff a year ago you are misguided. There is a new year coming, so it’s time you stand up and start looking for a job. You might want to browse the layoff sites of perspective new employers for an idea of their current bi-----g to see how you might fit in … but give it a break here “whiner boy”.
Thanks for keeping us on thelayoffs.com up to date with that. We are always anxious to know what happens when you still have a job over there. Must be nice to be able to still feed your family without standing in line at the food bank!

There can't be, for these reasons: a) our up-and-coming management spearheaded those failures (think massive cost overrun at Tengiz FGP). b) we've set up a crony network running these failures, so we can't back out now (think any project in Angola, or any Chevron LNG project). c) if it's really, really bad, we'll shift those EVPs into other projects, then never again mention the failed project (think JG the elder).
Strange that Chevron would say they want to emulate the agility, risk-taking, and creativity of small start-ups in the Transformation, but then look to old plodding business dinosaurs like Microsoft and Schlumberger for their Transformation business model.

There’s always time to do it right. LOL. Since that phase was put in print when OE was envisioned, it’s never held water. On top of that, there’s never been accountability or acknowledgement for major failures. It’s always been a love fest and it’s gotten to the point that peoples abilities have no bearing on what position they’re put in. It’s about d&i…..not performance.
Management also seems to think return to thr office is going to fix everything and we'll all suddenly become happy again. Attrition is going to grow after January 3rd so they better watch it.
MW destroyed morale with the transformation and keeps trying to blame it on the pandemic. He only cares about the dividend and shareholders. He won't have any employees left if he doesn't start paying some attention to his employees but doubt he really cares.
