Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

I'm getting overwhelmed with work

We have lost several people from our team in the past year, some to layoffs and some were lucky to find new jobs and leave on their own. Instead of getting at least some replacements, what happened is that their work became our work. Considering that we were already overworked before that, you can imagine how well that worked out. I wish finding a new job with comparable pay was as easy for me as it is for some people. I'd leave without a second thought.

Who’s ever left. If they get rid of the non-vaccinated, Honeywell will take its time replacing them. Expect longer hours and if you whine about it. Expect a letter of expectation or a PIP.

This is probably how they’ll make the numbers for the next quarter or two.

It’s as if everyone woke up after Thanksgiving and are rushing to make it seem like they had been doing something all year. I’m talking PM’s and leadership. Proposals and new program kickoff’s can wait until we get back from the holidays.

I was overwhelmed until I got permission to work revcogs full time. Cancelled all meetings not from my project. No townhalls or birthday celebrations. No metrics or improvement projects. No councils or CYA design reviews of other peoples work. Told boss I would not do training unless it had a revcog charge number. That includes your mandatory , court ordered, export control training. Not my problem. No morning calls with Bangalore or late night calls with China. Haven’t been this happy or productive in years. If they assign me useless work again I will say no. There are other places to work. Pretty sure this is what work is supposed to be like.

Yup. They dont care
Expect recurring end if qtr madness to cut rde again, again and again as in 2021
Yet nothing happens to those behind such poor planning and sales forecast. Very good at hiding it from the ceo. But who cares if their books make the numbers for wall street who loves layoff as it means reduced cost helping the bottom line

Yes, I am overwhelmed. And this week I spoke the truth to my manager. All based in fact.

Wasn't that well received but per Honeywell behaviors speaking honestly is desired.

So I suspect in January we'll have a team meeting and I'll get dinged somehow.

This isn't a worry since I've reached the limit and will be moving on sometime next year.

And as previously stated....

They don't care.

Hello @OP, I know what you mean about people leaving and some find just as well or better-paying jobs, but that is not always the case.

A choice I made decades ago when I built my home puts me 100+ miles a day to travel to a different part of the city for work. it just happens to be all of the other tech companies built somewhere else years and years ago.

So one day I decided that I would venture out to become a real boy once before and it panned out well, but it was 100+ miles a day in travel.

So... I came back... then left again to become a real boy at 100+ miles a day and thought WTF am I doing?

Just about the time I started braying like a Donkey and noticed the shadow cast by my ears they were growing longer, well, I came back, because it pays pretty well for this part of town.

Is the Engineering powerhouse it used to be?...

I did not realize I walked amongst Giants when I was a young man just starting out.

Hey @sae, at which site are you located? Was the Eng an AERO DV person or another site.
Sorry if my manner of questioning makes it appear as though one site or another or one Eng over another makes a difference, but I just wanted to know where... and if it was someone I may have known once upon a time.

That is heartbreaking news, I am truly sorry for your guys' loss.

One of our most needed engineers died last week as the direct result of depression from the stupid vax mandate. He bled out (from gastrointestinal bleeding) but refused medical help because he lost all interest in work and life, and eventually died from it.

Come On Man. If you had been continuously improving and documenting your processes, you could pick up 2 or 3 of your former coworkers tasks. Take that standard work clipboard and walk around with it. That's all you have to do. Hope This Helps.

Status quo. This is the same game plan that’s been in place for years.
