Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Anyone else notice the strange atmosphere in manufacturing (you know which fab(s) I'm talking about)?

I've been at Intel more than a decade and even when we weren't ramping up the atmosphere was always upbeat and somewhat positive...everyone busy and getting sh-t done and taking names in the progress. Now, it feels like walking into a funeral home. Anyone else experiencing the same atmosphere in manufacturing? How the heck are we supposed to build two more fabs with this dread lurking...

Is Intell still discriminating against engineers without a phd or masters degree? I know they mostly hire young RCG w PhDs for fab jobs that only require a bachelors degree. Its time they get hit for such a distasteful practice, and HR has no ba--s nor values to stand to such behavior.

Everyone at F32 is overworked. People leaving the fab left and right for ATTD or GSC. They froze eng hiring a year ago...nobody getting backfilled, so people are doing the work of 2-3 people for less pay due to the inflation. Yet somehow we are supposed to run 2 more fabs...

Why don't you just say which fab you're talking about? Not everyone is in the loop of everything. Everyone is already anonymous, no need to be vague about sh-t SMH

Morale and enthusiasm left the building many years ago, right about the time of BK the clown's ACTs.

Is it because 1/2 the people are at home at a given time? No, I don’t know what fab you’re talking about, but I used to be in manufacturing. I went to the on-site clinic during COVID and it was empty.
