JLS wheel shop and traction motor work to be outsourced. Reason cited is rising cost and overhead. Managers unable to tackle the problem of craft workers laying down on the job.

When you stop processing and refurbishing used parts, and instead resort to using all brand new parts guess what happens?!?!?!
The price skyrockets. But the Wheelshop management wouldn't know anything about that would they???

Meet the Fockers !
With the way they are pushing locos to their limit and beyond on a daily basis there ought to be plenty of maintenance work in this area. Traction motors have GOT to be getting worn out MUCH faster constantly pulling 15000 ton trains by themselves. And as for the hard and slow pulls uphill for miles…if it makes it without stalling…each subtle wheel slip along the way ends up resulting in noticeable flat spots. The powers that be are really running this railroad straight into the ground with reckless disregard for every single thing except the bottom line. It really has become a serious question of just how out of touch these people are that run the show.
I hate NS. I hope the company fails and deconstructs! This company is hiring new young people who are up in arms thinking they made a good decision. The fact of the matter is, we are quitting at an alarming rate. These Greeny's will find out for themselves NS is pure sh-t!
How about K Snyder's puppy mill?
Good
Now would be a great time to get Mr. Wick Moorman out of retirement. Make this railroad GREAT again 👍
