Forced return to the office

So they’re forcing everyone back in the office with zero regard for employees…Us bank has long been out of touch and it’s clear they don’t care

Return to the office after it was proven many non-customer facing jobs can be done remotely over 19 months is a slap in the face to many. Some of us have a long commute to the office and not everyone enjoys in person interaction wasting hours of our days talking to chatty co-workers because someone in HR thinks this approach works. We are all different and many of us just got part of our life back when pandemic started and now can see what we have been missing. Spending good part of our life stuck commuting back and forth is not the way forward. Going back to stale office environment is a Stressful disaster….No thanks!!!

Oh I feel so bad that you have to come back to the office when some of us have been forced to be there everyday and deal with the customers that are upset because they can't reach people that are working from home! Are you upset because you won't be able to do your laundry on company time anymore? Maybe it's our turn to work from home and you guys can take the brunt of the work that we have done the last 2 years!! GO cry somewhere else!

The useless middle managers are also going to experience the hardship of working an 8 hour day again. Flaunting their useless spreadsheets that are sure to resolve every problem. Luckily, they will be able to take their two hour lunches again to relieve their stress. Crafting more useless PowerPoint presentations that announce nothing more than that they still work here. Sharpening their PIP writing skills, waiting for their return to work. Planning another re-org because it's been a few months since the last one.

It really shouldn't come as no surprise that eventually you would need to go back to the office. Don't be so selfish. Think about all the useless unskilled middle managers at US Bank that have no purpose other than to micromanage their employees. I bet sitting at home the last two years has been painful for all of them.

I am guessing your manager is making you return full time and disregarding the moments that matter return which no longer means you have to be in 3 days a week. We haven’t heard yet but I don’t expect us to need to be in more than one day a week.
