Ready or not, there will be a substantial callback after the first of the year. Expect it to be in the 120-130 range, all crafts. Whether you go back or not the option will be there.

The cat was let out of the bag this week at SCX. The mo--n running the Show slipped up and mentioned it. It's just a matter of time.
The fact that they're not calling back only surprised the blind. Fact is the majority of Juniata has been simply waiting. Yes department's are closing and our managers have known. They were told not to talk about it. If your surprised by any of this your just 🐑.
No call backs coming at JLS. This is a fact straight from the top. It was all rumors, imagine that. Repeat NO CALLBACKS. In fact, multiple departments to close. This is sad news but it is true. The shop is in big trouble.
They sold the “General’s”? Meaning the “style locomotives” as stated below? Well, they all had southern Civil War general names on them, hence the nickname “General’s”. Definitely not politically or culturally correct today. When “Woke” protocol came calling and told NS to jump, they asked “how high”? And now look at the vaccine mandate coming down without any pushback.
Looks like we have some of that red a-s from shop envy rearing it's ugly head.
Let's be honest. Juniata is the worst shop that puts out units on the system and has been for awhile. They have never been a safe a shop, with multiple injuries year after year based on statistics (I don't care how big they are) when they put trucks in backwards in Coach cars, one has to question just what kind of mo--ns work in PA?
I 2nd THE “IEA”
Long Live Mr. Bite and ol’ Cat Head!!
They still have the party train at Juniata, just sold the old style locomotives, they use freight locos to pull them
Well... I'm just gonna put this out there, that if they call back. IEA.
Everyone says they won't come back to JLS. They are full of sh-t. You will see if they call back.
To answer your question, Curry Rail Services is at the former Hollidaysburg shop, repairing freight cars, they also make locomotive cabs ,fuel tanks , and other loco parts. Won't be long before they will repair locomotives. They have already painted a few .
They already tried 4 10's. It was a no go then. I doubt we will see it if and when a contract comes out.
What are they doing in Hollidaysburg now? I thought it was closed and I was surprised that since Norfolk got rid of the popular business car special that they kept employees at Juniata for it. I thought they would of been left go.
Two shifts of 4/10's coming soon. Most productive and efficient. 6am to 4pm. 6pm to 4am.
Everyone has their own choices to make but wouldn't recommend coming back with how things are going and definitely wouldn't go get no jab just to come back. The turds who got away with not working day in and day out with definitely come running back because they really can't get away with their "work ethics" anywhere else!! Juniata is one big dumpster fire!!
You paid your union officers a wage when they were working, and now you still pay them a wage while they are laid off. Why , they can't help, time to move on. Time for someone to step up
Take a look around there, they are contracting your work out, why would they call you back, it can be done cheaper and no liability. Example Hollidaysburg car shop, do you get it now
Don't build anyone's hopes up, unless you have proof. Morale is at a all-time low, and people's lives are not to be played with.
FAKE NEWS As Usual
Doubt it will get cheaper or cover more. That would cut into their operating ratio. Can’t have that.
LOL wait till they close it up for good LOL
Pay outside the RR is not bad, but the insurance on the outside is terrible. The RR insurance isn't what it used to be, I know. However what's covered by other companies in the general Altoona area is pathetic. You don't have to take my word for it, but Im living it now. I can't speak for the future of JLS let alone NS but for me and a lot of others like me it's the best game in town. Might be a short one though, only time will tell.
Hopefully we can negotiate 4/10's in this contract. Everyone wants it👍
We’ll see how good the pay and bennies are when the new contract gets signed… you’ll be going backwards guaranteed. Not even keeping up with inflation. Place is a joke and that’s coming from a 18 yr. Employee. First back will be first out on the street but I’m thinking JLS isn’t gonna last. Chompin at the bit go for it suckers
If its a different place now, what is the difference? What has changed?
Be very careful. The place you left is not what it is now! Don’t make the mistake of thinking you are picking up right where you left off.
I'll go back, really wasn't that bad there. Some of the bosses were a joke, but anywhere I have ever worked there have been those clowns who tend to run things. Good pay, nice bennies, and fairly easy work.
Sign me up!!!
Not going back either if true.
I'm not coming back . Period.
