Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Leads

Are the leads really going salary? I haven't heard anything about this in my club.

Worked for Sam's for many years. Seems to me that rumors usually come true, but it takes time. Like the rumor, the desk was going to change. Took two years. The rumor that click n pull was going to change, took three years and a pandemic to move that along. The rumor that cos's were going to be team leads took a year if memory serves. Anyway, the rumors usually come true in time.

I seriously doubt fresh leads will go to weekends off. What are you smoking?

Leads in production areas (meat, bakery, prepared foods) will be going to an am shift and have weekends off is what I hear. Turnover has been way too high because of the fluctuations in the schedule and closing shifts are always a disaster since there is no supervision in the mornings.

This has been a rumor for so long....and still, posts like these keep popping up. Until you get the confirmation in-club officially, nothing is changing.

I personally wouldn't want this. My leads bi--h and do nothing all day, so to have them making even more is ridiculous. The 10 hours is pointless since none of them want to be in the store anyways and will just leave at their 8 hour mark with everyone else anyways. That's what my managers do, even tho they are supposed to be "10 hour salary" too.

You won’t know until it happens. They will have a toolkit for all Club Managers to follow and exact timeline for all discussions with affected associates. All will be done on same day/ same time across the company. So everyone is blindsided at the same time.

Most stories about leads results in them being removed from the system.

Grocery Lead gone.
PTC gone.
Accounting Lead gone.
Auditing Lead gone.

Haven’t heard anything. Probably be the last to know unless someone has real details since this has been a rumor before.

If they did this then they would likely make the average hourly pay about $25/hr but at 50 hours a week. This would be a ploy to cut out overtime pay.
