Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

The one thing i found in retirement is Honeywell delivers pension checks on time. For now

There are no low level mgrs.. everyone is a "senior" mgr.
Or in the case of aero defense i guess that would be mayor mgr.

I was under managed.

I was a manager before I left. I was yelled at consistently from my director about yield and EEI. Even putting it my reviews that it wasn't delivering what other managers were.

Then he sent out, perhaps without knowing it, the yield/EEI of all managers and teams under him. My team was the highest (for years), and I worked more hours than most other managers.

The point here is that your manager is getting the same pressure that you are. And it rolls down hill. In retrospect, I would say 20-30% of low level managers are hired to be eventual sacrificial lambs when they need scapegoats for failing to meet numbers.

I would say 90% of the first line bosses are genuine and are put in a bad spot. First line bosses usually have no insight into the real behind the scenes discussions, they just get stuck having to disseminate the censored flow down they receive and deal with the repercussions while leadership hides.
