Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

AGE DISCRIMINATION

It is getting out of control in our club. The managers have it out for older associates, I'm sure this is the new company directing, out with the old and in with the young. This is so sad you work your whole career for this jack ho-e of a company and they target you because you make good money and have good vacation time. My building has been under fire since they got rid of all of our long term gms in the market and over 30 long term assistant managers in our market. The market manager started her tyrant take down off all long term managers last year when she was placed in our market. Why is this ok with the company now. Why is it ok to demoralize associates and managers and discriminate against them because of their age and years with the company. We all need to call the union and get over 50% of each building to sign. Come on guys i know you all have it in you this is the only thing we have left before they take us all out. They can't silence us all.

Everyone needs to file ethics complaints now. Then turn around and contact National Labor relations Board and file a complaint. Then contact a union and get Authorization cards and get them filled out and signed. You don't need 50% to get them to have a vote.

What they are doing is wrong!!!

Yep. Agree with it all. 20yr associate, 10 of those years a GM. Was terminated in November without reason or explanation. In my entire time with Sams I never once had a coaching, write up, open door, warning, NOTHING. Was replaced within days with a joke of a guy who was only on his 2nd year with the company total.

It isn't because the long term associates are older...its because they make more. They were there for the days that merit raises and a decent raise was given. The GM giving orders to the TL's and assistants now to make long timers life hard and hope they leave. Basic walmart and sams BS.

None of this is going to happen. Turnover is too high to gather the associate numbers needed to form a union.

Churn and burn has been the policy now for years. Make up some bogus stuff to write up a good long-term employee on, give 'em a cr-p evaluation out of the blue, use the above to document a reason for termination, and BO-M.....they're gone. No more high PTO costs! It's technically illegal, but extremely difficult to prove.

Bring on the union. We need the help of someone carrying a big enough stick to make every a$$ho-e in Bentonville pucker.

A big change like union or something is the only way there will be change in that place. It's disgusting the way they operate those places anymore. Shameful!

Start by talking your fellow workers. Need to band together. File ethics complaints, call a union, walk out like Kroger.
