Now I get it. The reason there are so many anti-vaxers in this company is because they want to keep sitting at home eating Bon Bons.
I’m in IT. This week I had two different in office meetings moved to virtual. One is next week and one the first week in Feb.
Nobody even keeps tabs on new hires...you never see the new technicians anywhere! You never know if they’re working or not cuz you rarely if ever see them yet, you know they’re not dispatched on a ticket. That’s the problem with having more techs necessary than available work. The new hires are overlooked and forgotten about. They might work 2or 3 tickets per week, yet T wants to hire more techs. The whole IT Operations or CS&O needs to really be looked at long and hard because it’s very, very over staffed with a lot of part-time workers collecting full-time paychecks!

Never left. I have more projects, have more meetings and work more hours than ever. I’d be more than happy to be a tech and get paid all that overtime. Tired of these 60-100hr weeks. The only good thing is, I do not have an office or desk to go to anymore so no commute. Do they want me to sit in the lobby or in some conference room? No one I work with is even in my same state any longer, so what’s the point?
I bet the chosen ones and the buddies/relatives can stay home what a crick

@jbd I can assure you there's no comprehensive study which came to that conclusion.
Just getting rid of the social butterflies and other office distractions alone contributes to more productivity from the home worker. Not to mention they're usually 'On' more hours than those who have to commute into an office.

IT going back to the office? Where did you hear that? I’m in IT and there’s been no mention of it. In fact, I believe T is getting rid of our building. There are no plans to go back. Anyone hear different? If so please post

Front line workets never left the office. See customers face-to-face throughout the entire pandemice! Such a farce with the way this was mishandled by T putting its employees at risk with hazard pay for one month...BFD! Keep it if it's that costly to you, T! Such a disgrace!
Productivity is always higher when in the office at least a day or two a week. Even if you don’t have immediate coworkers onsite, a stricter/established schedule resulting from office presence always increases output.

telecommute is just a management tool they take away when they want to get rid of you.
You should try telecommuting, it's a great life! I don't know how to describe telecommuting other than it's a feeling of true freedom.

Haven't heard one word about a return to an office, especially with the surge of covid. No one I know will step foot back in an office.
Nope, no way I'll ever go back into a conventional office environment. No reason why I should be forced, I'll quit first.
