I’m a rehire. Retired mgmt from BS in 06. Rehired as mgmt by AT&T in April 2014. I have a pension.
Ok downvoters, I'll elaborate. OP asked for LEGACY AT&T right? I was hired 2019 Legacy AT&T (AT&T CORP.). I'm a union nonexempt first-level craft technician title. I got a 401k and a pension called "BARGAINED CASH BALANCE #2 PROGRAM OF THE AT&T PBP" on Fidelity. Vests after 3 years. Not really sure how good or bad it is.
I can't speak for management.
We were the last group hired in mid of 2014 to get a pension. This is coming from a prem tech d9 west region.
Ameritech/SBC was around 2005 if I’m not mistaken. New mgmt hires from that point forward did not get a pension.

Definitely changed in the 2014/2015 time. Went from 5% pension and 4.8% 401K match to 0% pension and 6% match.
Managment: 2007 pension is a flat 3% and in 2015 no pension for new hires with 100% match on 6 % contributions to 401k.
Starting in 2022 legacy T pension reduced to match legacy SBC/BS Managment pensions

For the MIdwest states (formerly Smeritech) anyone hired post 1997 receives no pension or retirement benefits.
2021 is when leg T saw that the pension changed - they capped one of the three components that add to the annual pension, and added 1% to the 401K match. As for new management hires into post-merger SBC-T, I think it was a dead thing at that time, unless you could get bridged from leaving and coming back, but even that stopped around 2015(?), perhaps earlier.
I remember a big change in about 2015, they quit pension and raised 401 match.

March 2001 sbc hire - i have one they still projects well but I don’t trust what i see in fidelity. It had to end soon after that i would think
2020 if I remember.
