Ex-chevroid here, used to be in ITC and moved to a tech company. The difference is staggering. Literally 2x compensation and I get to write code that actually makes a difference on the bottom line.

@dwk spending a couple minutes to see what is going on at my old company isn't a big deal. Heck, I worked on pointless projects in 1600 for 5 years. That was a much bigger waste of time than posting on this site.

Not quite sure that a life of trolling layoffs boards of my old company is any serious indication of truthfulness, success, nor content. Just a thought..........

Left Chevron (of my own choice), got 20% increase in pay. Now that I am an 'expert' (that is, from another company), got head-hunted back to Chevron for another 20% increase. 40% increase (and promotion) just by jumping companies. Sweet!
