And it happened! The new hire left after only seven days.
People suddenly can't last even a month here. I only know that those responsible for these "new trends" will not take the responsibility. Everyone will be to blame, the new hires themselves, the existing employees who did not provide them with a pleasant atmosphere to adapt quickly, but those because of whom the new hires are leaving after only a few days will not be to blame. It's a joke of a company!

We had a new hire show up to get hard hat and other needed items to go to one week school. Shop employees talked to him for 10min and explained he would be on 3rds with Tuesday and Wednesdays off. He said no thank you and left.
He should have known that from the jump. We all did. Maybe this generation of kids thinks we are lying.

Who hold the board accountable ? It’s all about profits and shareholder stock price with a healthy stock dividend every quarter REGARDLESS OF THE EMPLOYEES OR THE INFRASTRUCTURE IT DESTROYS when all fails turn to the government for a bailout and new work rules to however is left employed ( just like the big banks in 2008 the failed railroads are to big to fail
Railroading isn’t for the weak. Mind, body and spirit must be 100% every day to be a railroader. Sometimes a few get hired that can’t handle the stress, it doesn’t make them lesser people and there is no reason to belittle them, they just don’t have what it takes to be railroaders. Wish them well and move on.
Hold upper management accountable? How could they? Didn’t the carrier fire most of these people?
Mechanical top management is to blame for this mess. Their cut, cut, cut mentality has lead to the loss of hundreds of millions in lost revenue by now. We simply don't have enough locomotive power. The car side is a skeleton of its former self also. It's time for the axe to fall on the ones who created this mess.
They are blaming COVID and "tight labor market". Who knows what they would say if pandemic never happened, we all know it still would have gone down the same way with them and their worker shortage. They have been spinning why people are quitting and don't want to work for RR for months and months now.
Toxicity breeds this. Top down.
What a great place to work!!!!!!!!
