SCX tried to call back a carman position that was lost through attrition. No one was interested. Men with 15 years of service declined to return. Says all you need to know about this company and the arrogant people who run it!

Regardless of whether they callback or not. PSR is not a long term solution to the RR's problem of having a higher operating ratio than they would like. Most trucking companies have a 85% plus operating ratio and they haul around 72% of this nation's freight. Railroading is just like heavy industry, it take a lot of money to make their money. That money includes a higher than average compensation and benefits package for employees to do the job. We can all complain about the contracts getting worse and worse and I couldn't agree more, but the fact remains compared to the average American worker we are doing alright. Granted the average American worker doesn't have the lifestyle change and hazards that the RR has, so we do deserve our due pay. With any luck at all maybe things will turn around for the better.

If they're going to call back at any location then they're going to cut at another. Then they'll go back and cut them when they get the work done that they want. Don't be so gullible to think that they aren't. PSR is here to stay just like all the other class 1s.

JLS to begin callbacks next week. Can't say whether it's worth coming back too. Good luck to all.
