Can anyone shed some light on voluntary separation benefits program, which was put out on 12/1?

The email said they’ll offer this at the beginning of every quarter. I wonder how many didn’t put in for it simply because it’s December. Curious to see the numbers in March.

Sounds perfect, where do I get the form? I’ll sign it in a New York minute!

It means that you are willing to give your job to another worker that is surplussed. You leave with some cash and you get backfilled. Be careful because once you submit, if you get matched, you cant backout.

How interesting yet uncanny that T would decide to do the right thing and approach the whole headcount rationalization differently...

VSB show of interest at this point. Voluntary Separation from T frees up positions for those who are surplused. Key word is VOLUNTARY. Seems like a way to get rid of the old folks.

If you’re surplussed, take a look at the OOR areas in the west that are hiring techs that are from other business units, as long as you still want to remain employed with T. I would just leave and say bye bye! You really get stifled working for T, never get any training nor do you get recognition for your certifications or accomplishments. It’s just a job, nothing more. No career path,, nothing to aspire to unless you know someone.

How can they surplus techs when T is hiring techs at the same time, makes zero sense! There is always a need for techs in out of region states since that’s where the most growth seems to be and where T is placing a lot emphasis on to help grow the WiFi business.

If T was offering a voluntary separation benefit to craft in the west, it would have been to all craft and not just a select few or so. Besides, T needs craft at this point to do the fiber buildout. If techs want to leave it'll be up to the individual and won't be T polling their personnel to see if there's anybody that would like to leave if an offer was given. Nice try!

You all have it wrong, VSB means volunteers say bye. They will gather all the folks who does, and let them go with 25k and 1 month medical. T and not be trusted!

I’m in the West region and didn’t see or receive anything regarding this vibe. Just another rumor, I would say because I have over 3 decades of service in craft.

If their plan is to offer only in the West Region, totally unfair!

I got the same email. I'm not sure if it's an interest list, or they are going to start offering VSB. I did sign up for it though. Fingers crossed.
