Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Rejoining Honeywell

Funniest thing happened today, HW aero HR reached out to see if I was interested to rejoin as new Director role would be opening soon. I was layed off in April 2020 after 13 years. My answer.....no way, heck no! It was good for a laugh, why would anyone go back to wondering when layoffs are coming, wondering how little the next merit will be, pressure to constantly contribute to the PAC, reduced MIP pool, stupid benefit increases every year, etc. The other factor, as long as MM is at the helm.....never going to happen. The grass is way greener people and less stress too.

I'm not to surprised at the come back offers. Was contacted about a year ago for a Supply chain leadership position. I just said before we waste anyone's time my requirements to start this negotiation would be to keep receiving my existing monthly pension along with a healthy compensation increase (100%) or 2x from what i was being paid at exit and a 2 year contract. Which would guarantee all this even if they choose to fired/ RIF for whatever reason. Thankfully never received a reply back.

I know at least one person who came back to ISC recently after being pip'd out years ago.
They had their reasons I guess.

@2dl- You must have been telling the truth. They hate that. This too can happen to all of you.

Stay strong @2dl

They are giving out titles for sure. Got a similar call… Since they said it was a great job / career, I told them I wanted some employment protection such as a severance or a buyout clause. Guy I was talking with had an unusually hard time understand what that meant. Didn’t get to interview stage.

I got that call 6 months ago.
I said that I loved and missed phx, but have found an awesome new team to manage doing awesome stuff. The worst fear you can give them is awareness that it's so easy to find a better job elsewhere.

Don't think they will call me back after I put in 38yrs and they fired me with a police escort from Glendale Space. Special people get special treatment.......

All great ideas folks....but I've wasted 13 yrs believing in this company and bending over backwards for them. Blessing that they layed me off,
because it allowed me to start my own business and find something that I truly love. This company has a chronic problem with putting greedy leaders in place that only look to fill their own pockets and then they dissappear in a few years. I can only hope that MM follows the path and doesn't last long in his role after they realize he couldn't organize a dog fight.

Strictly a legal requirement.
Probably posted a job inside your window of return eligibility.
You should have asked for a ridiculous salary and tied them up in negotiations for months.

I would entertain the call. Request to have multiple interviews

Ask for more information

Ask for more interviews

Accept but request starting date in 2 months. At 1 month 29 days postpone two weeks…. Etc etc etc

They must be getting desperate if they are calling people they just laid off. Poor planning on their part does have consequences.

You should have said yes, agree to everything, and sign nothing. Keep telling them "tomorrow".

Glad you didn’t laugh for 5 minutes straight then tell them no, it means they’ll be calling you again in 6 months
