If you’re part of the Board of Directors, and CEO.. This part of the company is is really healthy.

My guess the next people that are really happy. The ones who get the bonuses. So they push the he-l out of you. In order to achieve their maximum payout.

@1upt - They will continue to sell things off to raise cash and then sell the whole division. Everything is for sale. WS is in charge and they only like cash. WS is looking for another Berkshire Hathaway - sell the whole company then the remaining small group of folks left try to reap Billions by investing the cash. Bright side the world will still need some of what Hon makes and maybe it will still be made in the future just under a different name.

Things at the new "state of the art" corporate headquarters seem to be going well. Nice work out facility and observation deck on the roof. As DA said we all need to go there and check it out.

Some would say that the company is healthy due to big profits but that is primarily an investor perspective, not an employee perspective. As an employee you need to ask:

  • - "What is the company resorting to in order to make those profits?
  • - "Are those profits coming from natural growth within the company or is the organization using other tactics to beef up the numbers?"
  • - "Are benefits being reduced?"
  • - "Are the goals and metrics reasonable or are they starting to look impossible?"
  • - "Are our teams growing or shrinking?"
  • - "What about the positions that were vacated by previous employees by leaving or RIF... are those positions getting filled or are the remaining people simply expected to pick up the extra slack?"
  • - "What is the trend for locations? Are more sites popping up or are there just more closings in your general area?"

This isn't a secret anymore. Wall Street calls the shots now and investors want the best return on their investment. This mentality affects the entire organization, not just parts of it. Patriotism is not a factor to these people. To get the best bang for their buck they want labor and production shifted to the cheapest countries possible. To make this happen they just squeeze and squeeze employees until they can't take it anymore and are forced to leave. The work thats left just gets dumped on everyone else until the site closes and a new site overseas takes its place.

Is the company healthy? Not if your are the employee getting squeezed and sacrificed in order to make those huge profits...

I hear that the healthiest place by far is the Executive Board Room's wine cellar.

None. It's all smoke and mirrors to make Wall Street think Honeywell is a "backbone" company. Complete nonsense.

Vice President office and above is doing quite well. The office of finance in the Cayman Islands was booming last time I visited. It is a small place but they had to install a second loading dock for the pallets of cash being sent to Mexicali for land shipment to the US.

Every business of HW is healthy, and making huge profits. The profits just aren't within the targets. They aren't going away for a very long time.
