Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Expect Major Layoffs and Reduction in Force

Expect major layoffs coming, as a result of the next few quarters less than favorable expectations and future earnings forecast as outlined to Wall Street and investors in last weeks third quarter results. You can expect upcoming PIP will focus on making up for some of the financial short comings over the next few quarters. Expect greatest layoffs and RIF in businesses that continue to fail to met objectives and projected financial results.

What else is new? This has become the HW mantra over the past 7-8 years. Guess why for you trivia buffs......a little hint....this man beleives he is the smartest man alive and has one solution to make himself rich......cut costs and build a incompetent leadership team around him that puts up with it...you guessed it MM.

I drink Kool-Aid. Oh yeah!

I guarantee they’ll be a layoff next year. You can use your little chicken quote, all you want. Bottom line if you’re truly a Honeywell employee. They continue to RIF and lay off union employees.

When I first started we had 1200 employees in the union. Now we have 650.

Then we had a whole bunch of engineers. Now my site has only three engineers. The whole upstairs is empty. Lots of empty cubicles. So when you say the sky is falling, and pretend isn’t happening. You’re not in reality.

You guys can work all that nonstop overtime. Also you can help pack everything away when they close down your facility. Still the sky will not be falling. Shut the he-l up you super kool-aid chickens. Stop acting like a cult. The non-cult people have eyes I can see what’s happening. I don’t give a damn about your bonus or you getting promoted.

Please work faster so you can be out of work faster. The super Kool-Aid chickens. What was supposed to take two years. Only took one year for site closure.

They closed Golden Valley down in one year. Then the next year Co-n Rapids. Yes! They move the office people from Golden Valley. They are now located in Plymouth. There’s one production line of aerospace left at Golden Valley. I would expect them to move them in near future.

They’re in the process of leasing out the Golden Valley space they don’t use. This is when they move the last aerospace line out of the site. The new company will take all the empty space. Sounds familiar. Talk to the people work at co-n Rapids.

I don’t wanna belong to a cult. I’m in the process of finding a new job. I hope the retired people are able to make it to retirement. Especially if you only have two years left. The rest of you guys can go down with the SS Honeywell titanic.

I'm not going anywhere. I have an exemption. And I won't pick up your slack when you can't get it all done. You're a smug Branch Covidian that thinks this nonsense will end with the jabs and a booster. How many worthless boosters do you plan to bend over for to appease your masters? Another mindless troll slave droning on with the same sad propaganda. Your bridge is missing you something awful right now. Post again when you actually have some critical thinking skills developed and the ball$ to think for yourself.

@1iok - Honeywell Managers and Leadership don't seem to care about customers. We have X number of customers and we have X-Y number of folks working customer issues. Does not add up. Since the big layoff of 2020 we have customers that are unassigned and issues that do not get worked. If Leadership cared they would hire some help. And understand where the help is needed. Or they wouldn't have laid off so many last year - for the shortest recession in history. DA Zoom show last week he talked about how strong the demand is - and he didn't know this in 2020 when he slashed and burned? Seems he has a different agenda.

@cxv...

BUH BYE!

And, oh, per the last email please be sure to let your manager know you won't be getting faxed.

Consideration for HON to support our customers should be of utmost concern for you.

They will implement furloughs before layoffs. With all the voluntary layoffs coming they will be just fine as usual.

@jlt As history tell us, any time that the flavor of politician that has the majority right now has the majority, defense spending plummets. Same applies to space. We do military and commercial space work. It is a little more stable due to contracts being longer duration.
People need to remember their vote will affect their jobs.

@vwo Yep, If you say the sky is falling every day, when it does you get to say "See I told you". That doesn't mean you were right all along it means you were right just once.

Unfortunately when you do not have the required parts, raw materials, inflation, supply chain issues, increasing cost and low demand there is no other choice than unpaid leave and layoffs until things improve. It is unfortunate but the times we are living. It seem like a lot of things are out of control in the last six months.

Always screaming about upcoming layoffs, site closings, the end of HW, etc., etc., etc. Someday, If you actually keep repeating yourself every day, month, quarter, year, you might actually get it right. Doubtful...

OP: The change in future earnings forecast Honeywell presented last week was insignificant compared to the previous quarter or the YOY comparison.

Your statement to "expect major layoffs" is irresponsible and simply not true. You might try to understand that Honeywell has a normal attrition rate of 10%-15% of people leaving the company for other jobs or retirement in any given year. The company can simply put a freeze on new hires to replace those leaving. Historically that has been the first thing they do and has not happened in my division.

bring it on. with less people to do the work the shortcomings will be even worse.

Just a thought,, but all the big defense contractors are reducing forecasts for next year so it would appear our defense business may be facing weakness. If Commercial doesn't pick up the slack, that could weaken continuing employment prospects. Space seems like it should show some strength but it is a smaller portion of the pie.
