Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

How to say that I am not feeling well?

Is it okay to tell your boss you aren’t feeling well and need to take a sick day because of medication side effects? We are going into the office later in the week and I don’t want her to think I have something contagious. Started new meds and the side effects are intense today so I’m just off my game and need to log off, but not sure if that’s inappropriate or TMI.

I had alot of health issues and occaisionally had a bad day here and there even while working from home, where I could hardly get out of bed. I did not want to take sick days, so I took vacation days. I felt it was not my bosses business and did not want my boss making judgements about my health and taking away projects from me.

What are you….in middle school? If you don’t know how to handle a notification of sick time off request, you should not be working anywhere for any company or business. If you’re throwing red meat out to excite the antivaxxers….you’re pathetic….either way, just GTFU.

Just pathetic. You really don't know how to call in sick?
"I am ill. Won't be in today."
That's all you say.

As a boss, I was instructed to tell the employee Oh, OK....Bring a Dr's statement on your return. 100% of the time - they never took sick leave.

It's none of their business.

You are allowed to take sick days when necessary and you are not required to get their permission or blessings to do it. Simply tell them you do not feel well and you will not be at work today. You will let them know tomorrow if you will be in or not.

The less you tell your boss about your medical condition, the better. Don't volunteer that kind of stuff. Just say you don't feel well.
