Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Stock Price is tanking because there is

Zero assurance to Wall Street that Stankey and Board wont ram through another Debt Bo-b to the balance sheet. You know buy for $75B, wreck it, and within 5 years offload for $40B while starving your bread and butter areas of much needed capital and talent.

When they cut the div mid 2022 should be the bottom. Probably in the teens.

It should hit $24 and change today. The share price reflects the health of T. Stankey needs to go, a solid replacement CEO is in order. Share price will not improve until Stankey steps down.

Is $25 the bottom ? Something is very wrong ! Even the talking head Kramer says it is now a buy. But what is driving this stock lower?

To Post ID: @vhs+1dtKPURt: John Stephens left April 1 2021 and was replaced by a black guy who was TimeWarner CFO named Pascal Desroches. Yes, we need a CFO who can talk to the market that the market respects but both just sit back, draw their pay and watch the CEO destroy the company

Only the board has the power and control to fix this train wreck. A new charismatic leader is desperately needed to re-energize this “new” focused company.

The. Only. Way.

And it won’t ever happen.

Share price down $4 since start of 2021. $25.44 as of now, expect it to continue to drop. Time to bring in a new CEO, Stankey is in way over his head. How anyone ever thought he was qualified to lead at&t is beyond me.

BOD? please most BOD are rubber stamps for management. who nominates BOD members? BOd only step in when mismanagement is so gross or criminal that it cannot be ignored. T will stumble on until it becomes like T of the 1990s. the difference is no one will step in and buy the company like SBC did. And with inflation rearing its ugly head, if it stays then interest rates will rise and that will hurt Ts cash flow more. It will be interesting
I have mixed feelings as I feel bad for the people who will be impacted negatively if T does not right the ship. On the other hand they did can me. TT needs to stop focusing on the share price and fix the business. It appears they are doing just that.

Know-more-than-you also chased away the talent responsible for growing the media company onto the arms of the eager competion.... sadly, no vision or long term winning strategy from the current BoD and the Cxx.

Too little, too late. They just keep re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. T will go the way of the buggywhip factories.

If we would promote based on merit and not things out of our control the company would be better. We need stronger area managers, directors and AVPs, not more diversity. Promote based on talent. That’s the only way we fix this company.

John Steven's wasn't lying. ATT made big bets on a new strategy to overcome the shrinking profits of being an internet and wireless provider.

Sadly, ATT's culture isn't disruptive or innovative. The bet failed, and now ATT needs to adjust to having a smaller workforce, lower income and reduced profit.

The leadership of AT&T, like other companies are no longer invested in long term longevity, they want quick returns to make them rich. These people running AT&T are not stupid, they know what they are doing.

John Stephens has been lying to investors for over a decade. AT&T leadership has lost the trust of the street, investors, and their employees. BoD need to step in and clean house with current leadership. JTS must go for this ship to turn upright.
