If you are with that company for 20 years, you will get your lifetime membership. Hot dam! Unless they changed that too!

Meant to say Alumni membership if you’ve been with SAMs 20 years, not 30. Oops.

Was told I would not be given severance (by the club and also regional manager) due to there being several job openings in my club for the past 90 days. Spoke to the severance team support who also told me very few people actually get it anymore. I thought you would only lose it if they OFFERED you a lateral or higher position and you turned it down, but that is not the case. If there are any openings, lateral or otherwise and you don’t take it they do not have to approve your severance. So good luck to those of you going for it. You will get your force Reduction paperwork on November 6th. If you have been with the company 30 years don’t forget to apply for your Alumni Membership NOW. It’s supposed to be submitted 30 days prior to your last day to qualify for the free Plus membership for life. These are not automatically done and I can tell you from experience you will have a hard time getting it turned on if you wait until after your termination. Best wishes to you, I for one took a step down ( and got a pay raise! Lol).
