Just found out that out hours are being cut due to the raises. Thanks you home office. What a crock

Sounds like you are either working opening or mid day, or are front end. Majority of my club isn't allowed over time. Except for the closing merch time, they get unlimited OT due to being short staffed.

Your store must not be doing well in something? All my part-time people are at 32 hours and we're 5-8 over headcount because we're so busy.

How about the long time associates who have work their butts off and never see raises....new people make just as much as we do. This place wants to get rid of anyone older and with medical issues

Maybe at the lower volume clubs, but our club is doing insane sales and everyone is working over. It is also the end of the 3rd quarter and traditionally everything gets cut back, payroll, expenses, etc. But definitely not in high volume clubs.

Don't worry. It'll probably only last for a couple weeks. All the new hires will quit when the chaos of the holidays starts.

What I don't get is the way they hand out hours at the front end. I have been told that they work PT people nearly 40 hours a week for a few weeks then they reduce their hours back one week and the cycle starts again. Do they still have to make you FT if you work a certain number of hours over a 12 week period?

Not at my club. Plenty of overtime. Never got a raise for doing nothing though lol.

Take it as a mini vacation and enjoy your time off. With the raise even if they cut your hours your check should be almost the same if not just a little less. We all worked our butts off durning the pandemic and I’m sure we are all tired. Many associates will quit if they have no hours so they will give you your hours back. If you work less than 20 hours collect part time unemployment and when Sam’s gives you your hours back say no thanks! There are solutions to everything.

Wanted to add that it is pretty low to cut our hours after we have worked ourselves almost to death due to being so shorthanded. People who come to work everyday should be rewarded, not punished.
