Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

How is it legal to ask medical/religious info

I’m reading the form for the medical and religious exceptions forms and I don’t see how this can be legal to ask details about medical and religious information that gets sent to your employer. How is this not against discrimination laws?!?

For those of you who filled it out, you have an EXTREMELY good case with the EEOC and for a lawsuit during the next round of RIFs.

I agree!!! Those fancy lawyers at Honeywell don't know what they're doing. They'll all look like id--ts when Giuliani the pedophile and Sidney Plowell sues them!!!

you're all free to pursue your own beliefs and agendas, no one is preventing you from leaving or requiring you to answer

Yeah, it's supposed to be firmly held religious beliefs. Just because you haven't found a like minded and organized group of people to meet with in a building once a week doesn't mean you don't hold religious beliefs. Or on the other hand, that because you do attend services regularly somewhere that you hold 100% of the beliefs of that group. That question and those like it are a trick to give them a reason to decline you.

Exactly! And what church you go to, when and how often?! This is 10 pages and it’s ridiculous! Who’s going to take a stand?

The legal term you need to remember when dealing with HON is "coercion".
Overview:
"Coercion is compelling a party to act in an involuntary manner by use of threats, including force. It involves a set of various types of forceful actions that violate the free will of an individual to induce a desired response. In law, coercion is codified as a duress crime. Such actions are used as leverage, to force the victim to act in a way contrary to their own interests. Coercion may involve the actual infliction of physical pain/injury or psychological harm in order to enhance the credibility of a threat. The threat of further harm may lead to the cooperation or obedience of the person being coerced."

Beware of the HR & Sor.os trolls on these threads trying to discourage you from exercising your rights. Most of the questions HON is asking on the 10-page form are NOT legal. See the "Questioning Religious Beliefs is Unlawful - Memo" at:
https://lc.org/exempt
HON falls under HIPPA as being self insured. File a complaint with the EEOC. More info. at the same site.

Just remember that if you have a reaction to the Vax it would likely be grounds for disability.

It's not illegal for an employer to request religious information from an employee in order to accommodate the employee. It is only illegal to discriminate against an employee based on their religious beliefs.
It is not illegal for an employer to request medical information from an employee in order to accommodate the employee. It is not covered by any HIPAA laws, as employer/employee medical information discloser is not even in any HIPAA laws.
It is, however, total BS that the government sees fit to remove the choice of personal healthcare options from a specific group of US citizens.

@jed+1dk7FRXu It’s voluntary but if you have a legitimate reason to disclose this in order to keep employment that’s where it isn’t that voluntary is it? You either disclose your medical condition or religious views to your employer if you have legitimate reasons not to vaccinate or are terminated. Even those who are not anti vaccine should be against this egregious over stepping of privacy between employer and employee. This is opening a Pandora’s box of discrimination and privacy issues in the workplace.

Just fill it out and then you could have some legal basis to sue later. Maybe that is a silver lining for everyone
