Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Oct 11 has come and gone - what is the punishment for those not vaccinated?

Oct 11, the day by which a non-bargained management employee was supposed to have been fully vaccinated. Anyone know the punishment for those that did not get vaccinated or apply for a job accommodation?

"didn't the deadline get reset to 2/2022?"

2/2022 is for both union workers and for management departments originally given exemptions to meet the 10/11/2021 date. Management departments not exempted from 10/11/2021 (most departments) the employees were required to either get vaccinated or get an individual exemption

because it was nothing but a press release - no rule of law and companies are starting to get sued for firing people and there will be consequences if we get a judge that can read the constitution and the Nuremberg code.

and yet people are not falling dead in the street go figure people are not fighting over getting the jab.

Policy is in place but it isn’t being enforced. I’m a manager with 2 other managers in my office. None of us have been vaccinated and do not plan to. Only one submitted a religious exemption which was approved last month. Myself and the other manager did not submit an exemption and we are still here. Our boss hasn’t said a word about it to us. We submit the covid info each morning on the yes okay app and both of us receive an approval email to work in the building.

“didn't the deadline get reset to 2/2022?“

No, that is the date that has been set for the union folks.

They can’t even have policies in place to meet customer commitments. How in the he-l are they going to deal with their covid fear?

The policy will still be in place and this is far from over. There will likely be more federal and state actions, and ultimately escalated in the courts. Then depending on what happens in the courts, it will be decided in homes and streets across the country. The company has put a pause on the enforcement of the policy until all of this plays out.

Don’t know. It’s been very quiet. I know folks on my team that refused the vax. These are some critical people also, I.e. making sure systems operate to keep us above board on legal requirements and from getting fined millions. No one else knows their systems or code. If when they get let go, it’s going to be bad when that fails and no one knows how to fix it. We don’t have backup people in place and many of us re on call 24/7/365

When asked about the vaccine mandate deadline just reply “I don’t recall” works for every thing else. Don’t worry.

Has this company ever followed through on any of their threats? Not that I've ever seen in 31 years.

They could not even follow though on being a Media company.

OP posted a legitimate unbiased question, not anti or pro vax. Why would it get down voted?

Company has no plan to rebalance the work load if unvaccinated workforce was to be let go. This is way too much work, so nothing is being done. Public pronouncements are temporary feel good dr-gs, management incompetency didn't happen over night, are they really going to turn it around to deal with COVID? Highly unlikely.

Look for more public pronouncements on what a great job the company is doing on COVID, meanwhile, life goes on, stay safe.

You’d have to be a organized, competent company to enforce it. Relax there….a joke!

It's amusing to believe that anyone thinks they have the competence to have a plan and then execute on it. Here's what's happening: Nothing.
