Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

MY FINAL GOODBYE

I really need help with this . Everytime I ask for pto or even protected pto I am told due to business needs it will be an issue . It is to the point even the days my child’s school is closed I’m being to what will I do . I guess I’m going to start looking for another job . I have over 150 pto hours and protected because i am always being made feel guilty because no coverage .

Do you get paid your protected pto as well when you leave?

If you use ppto there is absolutely nothing they can do. You don’t even have to tell them why just put in family or other. If you take the time off just call in and come in next day and use it. It auto accepts it and managers can’t interfere with it. Just make sure you do it before pay period ends. If you can find another job though still do that this place is terrible anymore.

Explore why you are feeling guilty. Family is the only thing anyone has that truly cares about them. The only thing you should ever feel guilty about is not being there for your family. These sorts of jobs are a dime a dozen.

Funny how things work sometimes. It is not a even playing field. Some associates are over 5 pts and still there. But others are being terminated. Definitely not fair! And management spends their majority of their shift sitting their behinds in the office while leads run the club. What are they paying these mgrs for?? You earned that PTO/PPTO you use it as you need. If you use your PPTO you are protected!! Use it!

You do realize that if school closes early or takes in late that they cannot count points against you. Need a little more information to try to help you; are you having to leave early every day? Are you coming in late? You are welcome to message me rather than airing your personal issues on this thread. Your family has to come first, this company will drain you.

Take it off for medical appointments. They can't ask you why then for it would be a hippa violation. You just need to tell them it's for a medical issue and appointments are made months in advance

So sorry! Those people try to be so intimidating and they are merely your co-workers with sh** attitudes!
However, due to their "title" they have the ability to have this behavior. It has been that way at that place for about 10 years and only got worse when "team leads" started watching everyone else. That is ALL most of them do. You have your rights! Use them and hopefully you will find other employment!

First off don’t feel guilty 2nd if you have that much ppto if they won’t approve your days off just call out and use your ppto if you read on the wire you can use your ppto for whatever you want. There is nothing they can do to you as long as you are using ppto. But never feel guilty for calling out!
