Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

No one believes in growing a career here anymore?

A lot of people are either leaving or planning to leave in the coming months. Those who leave here generally have much better jobs now.
The bottom line is what formerly used to be a company where people came to grow a career has become just a nursery of talent and a good stepping stone for many employees.

The upper management have been preaching empowerment, empowerment after the VOE survey. Its pathetic how upper management folks view and interprete the meaning of empowerment which they think is merely delegating. I have a supervisor that has been just delegating duties keeping himself in the shadows and the delegatees in the front line taking the shots from every direction. Last week, this incompetent supervisor had the gall to say that he has empowered his team members effectively. Empowering isn't merely delegating but leading and guiding the people that they are able to make the right decisions indepedantly. His actions were more like throwing people under the bus and he was driving the bus. D-mb imbecile.

Honeywell benefits are the worst I ever had, "unlimited" vacation is fool's gold and the culture is toxic from top to bottom. It doesn't take more than 2 years to reach a point where you realize there's not much you can do as another cog at Honeywell, so you wait until you hit Dec 15th after your 3 year anniversary to move on to greener pastures - sooner if it's a real stressful environment.

Why to spend an entire career with one company anymore? Few companies offer pensions so there's really no reason to follow a life long career path attain that goal like I did.
I have two adult children and five nieces and nephews in their late twenties to thirties. They get bored or don't like their job they just move on to something else. It seems to have become normal in that age group these days. If I was that age these days I would tend to agree with that philosophy.

@1vbu - Totally agree. The Leadership team wants a completely different company. I don't think they really know what it is but it has to have way fewer employees and more cash for them.

Olathe/Cedar Creek just lost a senior manager and more and more are heading out the doors as their Renton & Wichita consolidation contracts expire. Even more are just holding out for the December 401k match. The biggest ki---r here will be the forced terminations for the jab mandates.

That's a direct result of the Jack Welsh School of Management: turn the company into your personal cash cow, rule through fear and intimidation, take no accountabilty for your actions, blame everyone else, suck the company dry of cash and personnel, and then toss it like an empty beir can. Next up, find another successful company to parasite and ruin... lather, rinse, repeat... The world is a much better place now that Jack Welsh is dead. And it will continue to get better as his disciples retire and kick the bucket over the next two decades.
