@1mrt, what you’re describing accounts for the rabid hatred of regulation from a slice of the political population. Balanced regulation doesn’t necessarily choke business and economic performance - it keeps the things you’re talking about from dragging the whole country down like Hon management is sinking their own ship…

When folks like TFG chirp about deregulation, it’s code to business leaders for, “.gov will look the other way while you abuse your power.” When pressed, they make up some excuse, but the real goal is to grow power in the hands of the (politically donating) few. That’s why the public justifications always make you go, “wha???”

This might sound like a really controversial statement but it probably needs to be said. I think everyone by now realizes that HW is no longer the company it once was. It used to be a company that took pride in its work. It also used to be a company that took care of its employees. Not only because this is how you grow a company organically for the long term but because it is simply the right thing to do. Now everything has changed because wall street has taken over the flight controls of the company. Now every new change just results in more money flowing into the pockets of the greedy shareholders on wall street while the hard working employee gets to work harder and harder for little to nothing in return, and may get riffed anyway as a thank you.

If you agree with the above then it should be obvious that communism or socialism is not the problem here despite what some people try to suggest. The real problem is that the version of capitalism that is practiced today is not what it was in decades past, when it actually worked well for everyone. What we have today is a by-product of manipulation by the wealthiest people out there. Think about it... they control the companies and the politicians (both parties). Thats all they need to ensure that the system has been bent to primarily serve them. Everyone else is now just an afterthought, just an undesirable cost of doing business. Now, the reason why things keep getting worse is because too many gullible people think that communism or socialism is the problem when in reality the problem is that the system we have today (i.e. greedy shareholder capitalism) is completely broken. If we can't actually agree on what is broken then there is no hope for anything to get fixed.

You are viewed as captive day labor. Day labor is picked up at the street corner and corporate HR offices everyday around the country. The next week different faces, but same number or more of day laborers looking for daily pay to feed their families. The government gets their cut in taxes and corrupt deals/payoffs to stay in power, so they are happy and do not care about you unless you will not continue to support them and give them more of your hard earned money. It is the establishment gov/corporate partner plantation system here in America today. The next political/corporate marketing propaganda push is you will own nothing and be happy. This is the way socialist and communist counties operate.

Minimum US wage is just political propaganda meant to keep people poor.

We should be fighting to double or triple wages in Bangalore , penang, and Mexico.
That would wake up leaders in Charlotte.
Those are the sites being oppressed and used as modern slaves.
Pay them fair wages and everyone benefits.

I got laid off in 2020. So happy to be at a new company before inflation takes off.
