Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Time off requests!

Management is telling associates they can not take any time off in Sam’s Club unless they PTO or PPTO. Is this company directive or one Club manager trying to disapprove time off ? We can not find anything on the wire about this new Company directive.

Yes, you have to be careful how many you take off in a three-month period. You can lose full-time because of it.

If you want to take time off unpaid you should be able to!! These mgrs are probably not trained to do their job correctly!! When the PTC went away management began doing what they wanted because they have no idea how things work!! And if they are shorthanded then it is their fault for not hiring! They should step up and fill in your spot!

It’s called time management, don’t use up all your time unnecessarily.

At the club I work part timers can do what ever so they can take 2 weeks off and still have a job. If the GM likes you.

As a full timer I take unpaid time off just so I can save my pto and ppto. My manager approves almost everything so it must be your club manager

You can take unpaid days off but they have to be requested and approved first. If they choose to deny it then it's all on your PTO. Which again they can deny. Unfortunately for you and those at your club it seems. That issue does not exist at my club. I take unpaid days off periodically to extend a weekend and actually have family time since I only get 1 weekend a month off. Etc.

nah, you can take pto, ppto, legacy sick time, legacy personal time, unpaid time off plus alot of others.

The holidays are coming and they know associates taking time off is going to increase dramatically. The company tries to curb that by issuing Blackout dates, but even that shouldn't be able stop you from taking that time off. I got thanks giving week and xmas week off.
