Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

Just going to quit?

My opinion is that most people will leave this company due to other issues, but I do not believe that many people will refuse vaccination at the cost of losing their jobs.

Because, what are the alternatives for those people who oppose vaccination?

I was trying to explore what would be an alternative for me if I hadn’t been vaccinated and failed to find one.

If you have a pension, look at it, they're looting the pension funds!

Good to see other Telcos not putting up with this BS! Southwest airlines feeling the heat after their mandate.

Don't quit, make the company fire you, that will be in your favor when the lawsuits start.

Off lander from another 'big telecom' here trolling your convo on the subject of vax. Our company has a little more than half that are vaxxed.. and from my convo with other employees, we are holding strong. There will be a large number of us fired. Sad.. since everyone.. in all telecoms are overloaded with work.

I would expect much larger things to come of this. Not just in the telecom world but everywhere. Have you been listening to the truckers? Sounds to me like a pretty large segment of their force will either retire or look elsewhere when the mandate hits. What will that do to the supply chain that is already broken? You can take a educated guess.

And to the user that posted about Northwell health. Yea.. that is pretty sad. I thought it was all about 15 days to slow the spread and not overload the hospitals. Well.. these people have all been exposed and likely all have the antibody to fight Covid naturally. Nope.. not good enough.. don't let the door hit ya in the a-s? And oh.. thanks for your service during the pandemic.

For everyone here, don't be afraid to die and don't be afraid to live. Both will happen to all of us. Stop this pre-school thinking and get a life.

I think we should all get the antibody test. If it’s positive for antibodies, that’s a valid excuse in my book not to get the clot shot. Unless they are science deniers

I have already decided to leave if there isn’t an exemption for me or weekly testing as an option. I know of myself and a few others that will be leaving as outside tech’s. There are other options for myself but I do understand that some may not feel this way. I’m sorry that it’s coming to this for you. But there are smaller companies out there that treat their employees better so if you really don’t want the vaccine keep looking. Their are other opportunities out there. Good luck and I wish you the best with whatever you decide to do.

Let’s see how Lumen’s numbers will compare.

Northwell Health, the largest health care provider in New York, announced Monday that it fired just a sliver of its staff for failing to comply with the state's COVID-19 vaccination mandate—and there will be no interruptions to patient care at the system's 23 hospitals and over 830 outpatient facilities.
In all, Northwell terminated only 1,400 of its more than 76,000-member workforce—that's roughly 1.8 percent.
