What is the real reason that most managers are against WFH?
They think we collaborate more when we’re in the office? I don't think so.
Are we more productive in the office? I don't believe that either.
Is it easier to control us? Maybe?
Are managers actually afraid of the remote-work future because they fear for their own jobs? Hmmm.... probably.

“Most people are a lot more productive in an office than they are working from home. And you know it.”
There are some people that need to be in an office, true, but don’t negate those of us who are actually very productive, successful and WFH.
Oh stop! Most people are a lot more productive in an office than they are working from home. And you know it. Is it nice to work from home? Sure. But don't make it seem like it's the best option. It's not. There absolutely has to be a level of control. If not then people will take advantage of WFH. If anything, maybe they could do WFH once a week. But don't start whining just cuz you don't want to drive in to work. That's the real issue!
It’s an old school mentality. Most of the ranks below MFN like the idea if WFH (if only because it makes most associates happier).
MFN is on his way out. The new office of the President was set up to prepare for that.
Mfn is against wfh. It will never be rolled out as an option while he is in power.
I am not requiring my team to go back to the office. It is their choice. They do great work even though we're drowning due to being understaffed.
How do you know productivity is not an issue? Yes, the company is still running but that doesn't mean WFH is more productive than being in the office. Personally, I am MUCH more productive in the office than I am at home. Was it great to not have to commute? Yes. Absolutely. But I think all this fetching has more to do employees wanting the convenience of working in their pajamas.
It the leadership at the top thats the problem. They were successful when they did have people working from home.
It's easier to violate HIPPA when you are working from home. I think they are more concerned with that. We've already been working from home for a year, productivity is not an issue.
So manage those situations with those individuals when they arise. Are we paying people to warm chairs or are we paying them to get work done on time?
They are against WFH cuz they know some of all won't be productive. Because it will get taken advantage of. It's true. You know it's true so stop pretending it's not.
