Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Does anyone know if this policy has been changed?? or still is it still the same?? Where can I find it on the computer??

Full Time status is determined based on your hire date and weekly average. If you were hired BEFORE Sept 1, 1979 the number of hours to qualify for Full Time status is 20 hours.

If you were hired BEFORE Jan 1, 2002 the number of hours to qualify for Full Time status is 28 hours.

And for those hired on Jan 1, 2002 FORWARD, the number of hours to qualify for Full Time status is 34 hours.

33 year associate wanting to cut hours to 28 hours and keep full time benefits.
New management say everybody is now at 34 hour to keep my full time benefits.
Does any long term associate know where to find the information on the computer that says the policy is still 28 hour for my length of time working??

It is printed on the bottom portion of the FT/PT Exception Report that can be accessed in the SMART system.

I too am a long time associate with 31 years under my belt and have inquired the same subject. Have always understood being "grandfathered-in" meant full time is at 28 hours. Unfortunately since all the changes and new policies, current management says that is no longer and we could be put in the full time/part time list. I want to reduce my hours to 32. No one knows the true answer any longer. Researching this subject has been confusing and disappointing, Computer time is hard to come by.

Here's a confirmed update: He/She did NOT go on LOA. He/She went part-time for 1 year for a personal reason. When He/She went back to FT it was after Jan 1, 2002.

The 33-year associate is looking for policies that are actually in writing not hear-say or 'by word of mouth'. anybody can make up anything and management could do that also. If your manager says it who's going to question it?
I don't believe that your manager told you the correct information.
That doesn't make it the correct procedure to follow unless it's actually a policy that Walmart has in writing.

This associate is a 33 year very long-term associate and very dedicated in his / her job.

So if anybody knows of a actual written policy that states something different than being able to work 28 hours and stay full time based on hire date, after someone's has taking a leave of absence take care of a family member, please detail exactly where you found it on the wire. Sedgwick does not and will not talk about full time policy.
Thank you everyone for your help.

I only know that 'by word of mouth'. The 2 of us were both hired before Jan 1, 2002, but he/she had to go on LOA to take care of a family member a few years ago.

I don't thinks that's fair either, but would Sedgwick know?

Please let me know where that policy is on the wire? I have looked and can not find it.
I would say that a leave of absence should not affect your full time status from when you were hired according to the policy. A 33 year associate should still be able to work only 28 hours and keep fulltime. If anybody else has seen something different on the computer please chime in. Please be detailed where you find the information in writing. The path you took on the wire to find the information.
