Labor shortage

Oh now NS is crying because of labor shortages and more dwell times.
Dear NS you did it to yourself open your Greedy eyes.
Every location is hurting because of your Greed and this Precision RailRoad BS.
Now the people are starting to come together and stall this Railroad.
Listen up everyone read the news check out Train magazine NS is crying now do not give in sticknitvto them just like NS has stuck it to every location out there.
NS is proud of thier new Hq in Atl.
Not proud of it's employees.
We cannot strike but you can slow this Railroad down hit them where it counts.
Put the operating ratio back to 75 percent.
Let NS suffer just like we the employees are and have been.
Only we can keep this happening.
Thanks for all you do im telling you that .
NS will not thank you look at what they have done to all of us.
Wheres our xmass bonus. Calenders ornaments, shirts, jackets ?
Where our penthouse in the new HQ ? You cannot even go inside past the first floor.

10 minute break x 3 = 30 minutes 20 minute lunch x 3 = 60 minute lunch doing a job that had 3 workers reduced to one employee through progressive railroading .only thing missing is the pay .......

I'm still plugging along at JLS and unfortunately the previous posters were spot on. There is not one ounce of give a f**k left in that place. I have no idea what the future will bring for that shop let alone NS but something has to change. Can't balance a three wheeled car forever.

Juniata Locomotive Shop is a total disaster. The Management is absolutely clueless about the daily operations. There’s no accountability whatsoever! It’s a free for all. Workers are sabotaging their future by playing on their cell phones all day and walking around the shop to gossip with so called buddy’s. 30 minute breaks and hour lunches is the norm. Nobody cares not even the Supervisors aka Foreman’s. Good job to senior management lol You ought to be ashamed because you’re adding to the failures out on the rail.

As I sit back and watch NS burn, part of me can't help but have a sad feeling. I have been railroading over 30 years and there have been many ups and downs over my career, but I have to admit this is the worse I have ever seen. Too many "educated" bosses who don't know the front from the rear of a locomotive and a CEO who was a bean counter with no real understanding or care of what it takes to run a railroad. Good luck to all my time is about done.

In the 23 years I have been there we never got a bonus. Calenders? yes. This company is garbage and I can happily say I got out. But let's not act like they owe you all the extras. Crying about Calenders, shirts, and ornaments are the least of the employees worries! That's ridiculous!

People with years of seniority are quitting . They cannot hire good folks . They are quitting as well . Corporate greed … They have made a choice … Years of No Union contract , Cutting jobs because of precision railroading, You will be furloughed in a month after peak season or suffer through years of service. They continue to cut in every single department. No Weekends off / On call 24/7 .. Living the worst life as a union member…

I have been in T&E 28 yrs … To any new hire if you want to sell you’re soul ? Better to the devil than this company . If they assign me a student conductor he won’t last a week . Not because I don’t like them but because I can save someone’s soul and stop them from making the worst decision of their lives … This company don’t deserve good men and women . It’s heartbreaking to see an industry come to an end . Share holders , Hedge funds , profit margins , bar graphs and most importantly, Dividend’s now run this company. The metrics /operating ratio is all based on a fabrication on Lies .

We had a serious manpower shortage on my district. Know what they did? Combined two trains and abolished two long pools that paid quite well. Now everything is in one pool and we are looking at potential furloughs. These people are fu----g evil.

And I hate to say it but they aren't done laying off either. Certain locations manpower is being based on a timed, per minute outbound car loadings. If those numbers fall below their metrics, layoffs occur

I for one am enjoying the sh-t show! They did it to themselves, so sc--w them. NS can enjoy the fruits of their labor. I just wonder after the total collapse wether BN or UP will take us over, it's obvious the id--ts at the helm are running it into the ground and will jump ship soon!
