What are your thoughts about potential TMOBILE layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

Oh yeah, I forgot. 15 years of service.
I just got the axe on 08/25/2022. How much do you think data breach settlement have to do with this. Either way, I got it as well as my immediate manager from ETS. Looks like if you worked from home that was really frowned upon. The requirements for coming back to the office were just sent out. My manager said he didn't care where I was, so long as I got my job done. Well I guess this is one way to keep MS's 24 + million dollar salary! Way to go MS. Way to carry on John Legere's legacy. You suck and so does Supply Chain upper management!
I saw MS today in there jo--t connect with Spacex. He was blank and Elon took over the show. It felt like he was just there to show face with which he was always staring at Elon
MS is trying to behave like JOhn ledger but he is defeating all he stands for. TMO may go down with his leadership and few other arrogant ones.
The names were already proposed almost a month back. But people who are communicating and leadership are so ruthless that they even did not hint employees to be prepared. Worst leadership left in TMO.
One of the director is also impacted. He has been layed off. This one looks like they are removing who were challenging them on wrong decisions as well also they were brought in by there ex VP and EVPs.
What department got notified today?
I got my notification today!
Favouritism is saving people TMO. I have seen a very smart and expert manager got laid off where as a stupid product team manager who is just not good for anything survived. A very disappointing step.
At least 1 laid off this morning (Thursday) in ETS. Reason given was job role eliminated.
It has started in ETS from wednesday. Then list is out. No valid reason. TMO is under heavy debt from sprint and their dues to vendors and procurement.
Lots of cuts coming. MS was talking about 4k openings when in fact half of them are part time retail and a quarter are full time retail. Otherwise no significant openings in the rest of the business. Don’t believe me? Check workday and drill down to the job family for your position.
Why did you get advanced word from HQ if you are being cut?
The rumor is not a rumor anymore, we got word from HQ that layoffs are officially starting on the 29th of this month.
The names were submitted months ago, and managers know who’s gonna be laid off on the 29th. I am hearing an average of 100 employees per regional SVP.
Engineering will be hit hard this time around, severance package will be the same as the previous layoffs (2 months of pay, lump sum for time worked, etc…)
My husband and I both work at T-Mobile, I consider us lucky to find a job in a much better company starting September 12th, so we are hoping to double dip and use the layoffs to our advantage. Thank you for paying my Hawaii vacation TMUS, I promise you, I won’t shed a tear and I will enjoy every bit of sunshine.
All TMUS employees, don’t get stuck in your comfort zone, even though working at T-Mobile is nowhere close to comfortable. Get out while you can, stop the tyrants.
Ciao and good luck everybody
Another Batch of T-Mobile LAYOFFS Nationwide coming in 2 weeks or 3 weeks from now. From Directors Level, they already have list of who they are keeping. Be prepared...
Rumor mill is as much as 30% reduction coming October/November timeframe.
Mike Katz announced Friday, July 29th in the TWIM Marketing Town Hall that lay offs are coming to corporate starting Monday. The effort appears to want to reduce head count to pre-merger numbers. It is a toxic work environment and has been so for a handful of years in which leaders are directionless, career paths are unclear and a re-org has been on-going for literally years. Asking employees to constantly evolve to any new role at any time while going through a pandemic and extreme economic uncertainty is just cruel considering the constant internal self promotion of how well their earnings reports are. Literally days before layoffs were announced, employees received an email saying it was one of the best quarters ever and they are leading the way in the industry. The level of greed and chaos is astounding.
Wireline division here. I got the word 1 April that the division would be drawn down. Senior Management is clueless. A wireless sale is frictionless; I can have a T-Mobile SIM in my phone today, and a Verizon SIM in my phone by nightfall. Wireline had contracts with with our customers (large ones like top-5 "Parcel Services" and financial houses) that would mean they were customers for 3 years at a pop. Those Wireline contracts meant I could position and introduce other services we offered on our paper to the customer, increasing their monthly spend. SMT didn't see that, it is all about selling SIMs, SIMS that can disappear overnight if the service falters. John Legere, as an old Global Crossing guy, knew the value of Wireline, these guys do not.
For me, I am going to a competitor, and am going to double my salary in the process. Mike S, get a clue, and Mishka, get over your self love....
Since I did not get vaccinated T-Mobile “separated” me after 25 years of service. That’s all you need to know about Mike Sieverts leadership.
TMO do not care about their employees. The place is toxic and stressful. You are expected to be available 24/7. Time off is always interrupted by work calls/emails expecting a response. It’s a very unhealthy environment.
😭this is so sad the merger and new the CEO have been awful to the company I was in the first round of layoffs in 2020 right after Sprint was officially incorporated into T-Mobile stores my store was out for COVID and we never went back the back before we were supposed to go back they called us and told us they were shutting the store down for good.
Tmobile has no regards for the well being of loyal employees. It's become a toxic place since the new CEO took over. Upper management are just socially disguised sociopaths.
I was part of the recent "organizational change" where my position was eliminated. I was offered to take the severance package or stay aboard as a mobile expert with a significant pay reduction. Whatever decision I chose needed to be made by the end of the day Tuesday, 6/21/22. No clear explanation was provided, and when I got the phone call, the vague details that were provided differed drastically from the severance letter that I sent via personal email. The so-called protection of our jobs during the migration, as spoken about by the CEO of T-Mobile, coincidently hits 3 years in August. This is the same time that all parties involved in the recent "organizational change" have until their employment ends or their demotions take effect.
Well, I was a lucky winner in this last rounds of lay offs. Go me!!
Engineering layoffs are coming to Ulf’s organization ( National, Regional and Markets!!!! 10% is the initial target.
Friday July 15th, right after the vaccine exemption expectation!! Who should be worried? Unvaccinated employees with non medical exemption, Sprint employees with teams consisting of 6+ team members, and if you have some beef with your Boss.
I will check back in two weeks, my last day with T-Mobile was 06-17, I found a much better company that allows remote work and pays 25% more than T-Mobile was paying me.
Cheers and good luck, get out while you can, this is not the T-Mobile I once knew under John’s leadership.

Some Retail Store Managers in addition to Retail Associate Managers (Assistant Managers) were given choice of taking a demotion to Mobile Expert (Sales Consultant) or taking a Severance. Most of those I am aware of seem to be former Sprint personnel. This went down first thing in the morning on 6-17.
Today 6/17/22 They cut 2000+ RAMS (assistant store managers) and I was one of them. Company owned retail stores. Mostly formally Sprint legacy as I am. 22 years gone. Wow.
UM! UM! You are not very bright! There is a thread on the Sprint Layoff page that outlined this exactly and warned you all this would happen! Here is a link to the thread! I have to hand it to that poster that created the thread... they word right on the spot with their prediction! https://www.thelayoff.com/t/TlnTyyR

After 20 years , I Just Got Laid Off and Im Fully Vacinated. This is unreal looking for Lawyers this company is running full WOKE.
Yes I was laid off too on 4/19/22, legacy T-Mobile, white female with 18 years and I know quite a few women that got laid off too, all legacy T-Mobile with 20 to 25 years in Engineering, which seems all that was hit so far.
Manger said TMO Company Wide was asking all Groups to evaluate their Teams and how to make more efficient. Retirement options openly discussed. More layoff coming.

Enjoy the reading and the fact that our CEO makes cool $22.6M a year, just 312 times more than us.

I'm hearing upcoming layoffs this summer is TSDO (Operations). I'm sure that will be a majority of Legacy Sprint because it seems that org is busting our the seams with them. I'm also hearing Brian Kings Org (what remains in ETS) will take a bit and he will likely be gone this summer to.
That's a weird statement. Depends on which department you walk into, it's possible that 90% of the department are white men. If that department got hit with RIF, how many white men will be let go, assuming performance are evenly distributed regardless of race and gender?
90% of the team members TMobile laid off in the last 2 weeks were white, mostly men, but 90% white- regardless of tenure or performance. We have to stop fitting people into “quotas” and start keeping whoever is best at their job.
Got laid off with many others 4/19/22. Engineering. Director and hr in a call. Told not to tell anyone. 2 months pay with severance. TMO will not let you take a contract position until November. They said to apply for full time internal positions but gave us no way to access the internal job boards. It was all very unprofessional and half a-s, last minute. Probably a blessing. TMO is half a-s and unprofessional in general.
Layoffs going on now. Alot of the old Sprint people are being let go because of positions being eliminated.
I heard retail stores will be trimmed down from about 9,000 to 7,000 soon.
