Such a pathetic company. Leadership is clueless and living in 1980s. 80% jobs are done outside US in the name of global and even for those in US positions are imported and filled with various types of visas preventing opportunities for local people. Those that sit as management don't speak the truth knowing their job is at stake. This place is an absolute joke.

When Honeywell lays off or fires anyone, it is always with cause. Severance will be paid unless the reason for the termination is that the affected employee ends up in the local pokey. i.e. stealing, as----t, or any other violations of law. If severance is denied, HW knows darned well that various forms of discrimination lawsuits come into play and HW wants to avoid this at all costs. This whole idea of "fired with cause" eliminating the chance at receiving a severance is BS. Its probably a HW HR type trying to get people to leave on their own instead of holding out hope for a severance.

This company is on a downward slide just like FTX, META and others in the daily news.

Trashy company, led by trashy leadership...

Some things I learned by working at Honeywell.

  1. Lie to everyone; customers, auditors, vendors.
  2. Look the other way; when quality concerns arise, look the other way and pressure people into making bad decisions.
  3. Metrics; make them up to fit your needs.

Urbana does quite well at this, apparently it is a cash cow to all of the employees there, but it is going downhill fast.

Customers should look into their FAI's and history, auditors should look into the correct places and ignore the quality group that misleads them.

It is awful, but... time to move on.

Jump ship while you can. They are looking for reasons to fire anyone they can and avoid severance. The schedules for the November furloughs were set up to harm customer relations as much as possible.

The HBT division is having furloughs in November. The week before or after Thanksgiving are the assigned dates. We were told NOT to inform our service customer contacts for the reason we will not be onsite. We were also given pre-canned messages how to setup out of office email/voicemail messages, with specific instructions not to say it was due to the furlough. SMH.

The furloughs are coming and it's no rumor. This will take place starting in November 2022. The interesting part is what will take place on the government contracts where they are already paid for service. There was no money given back to the government. I bet that will happen again. Wait and see...

As a recent hire I’m feeling positively ecstatic about how Honeywell acts in 2023. My recent VOE was 1’s and 2’s. And I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Interesting read. For those of you that work in SPS we’ve now had our second layoff pretty major in the salesforce. No managers have been affected and we’re in the middle of our second furlough. Probably more shoes to fall

  • It's "baked into the 2022 plan."
  • Forecast 2-10 revenue and identify RIF targets to prop up income statement.
  • Initiate PiP's for higher compensated positions.
  • Develop 3-9 plan and 5-7 plan and firm plan for 2nd half with RIF's to be complete with final payout in Q2.
  • Project Q4 earnings conservatively and close the books on "Project Starling" an invasive species that must be eradicated.
  • Enjoy the status quo and flat earnings (+ or - $1B) and reshoot executive phots after carefully planning and paying a consulting firm $500k on which executives will have headshots of "arms folded."
  • Award bonuses and options.
  • Forge on future shapers, Forge on!

In regards to the $140+ out of AERO RDE, I am not surprised. And the future shaping... they may as well jam an Arduino kit into a 3D printed encloser and call it good. They are working on the last NEW AERO hardware project that is one temper tantrum and a redesign away from having to completely start over.

@nsp - I work at Aero. I see managers who have lost people, and need people, being told entry level only. (obviously cheaper) And have been told of offers pulled back because the interview process did not have the proper mix. This is recent. I think a goal is a contract workforce, at least for ISC, where I work. There has been an increase in contractors inn 2021.

I agree with below. After the dust settles from the mandates, HR will do workforce planning and we will see. But I suspect minimal layoffs personally, and more hiring.

The first hint of impending layoffs is when HR begins cancelling open requisitions for replacement workers.
I'm an Aero manager and that hasn't happened yet at the site I work at. I've hired two new employees in the last eight weeks to replace people that left through normal attrition.
I would imagine everything involved with any layoffs is in a holding pattern awaiting the covid vaccine issue and whether there will be people let go for refusal to be vaccinated.

HW will look for any reason to get rid of you before the 401K deadline. Plenty of slaves waiting to row.

RIF's only happen when a day ends in Y and 1/1 to 12/31. Other then that you should be safe.

The biggest layoff will occur in the December/January time frame when the Jab mandates take effect and lead to site closings. Prepare while you can.
