Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

They have yet to see how hard it is to hire new people

Easy to layoff people, much harder to hire people. Pay isn’t competitive, promotions and career growth are limited. If you have marketable and in demand skills, why would you want to come and work here?

Exactly what I'm thinking. I don't want to sound like it makes me happy, on the contrary, I'm sad that this company is sinking, but I think that in a while they will have a lot of work because they will have to figure out how to hire people who will no longer want to work in a company like this.

I guess you haven't had the pleasure to work with IBM, Tech M etc. and rest of our illustrious outsourced vendors. Just don't try to schedule a call after 12:00PM as lights out. Oh yeah and every week there is a different holiday somewhere so no one will show up for your call.

why would anybody want to work at a place where your job is up for being laid off sometimes up to four times a year.
the pay isn't any better than a company who doesn't do that. for certain the benefits are not better.
why?

Yes, I still have the "coin" and remember going to the "Celebrate the spirit" shindig...

We all knew divestiture was the beginning of the end.

We are now watching the end of the end.

@kep+1dJ0DH2B "Why hire an entitled lazy American when they can hire a hard working person outside of America for less that will do a better job because they actually care about their job."

“Your English is pretty good Sanjeep. Yes AT&T is hiring Dalits and Shudras with Bullsh_t degrees. I disagree about them caring about their job though as there are numerous opportunities for them to work in scam call centers. These are actually highly coveted jobs in India”.

Somehow I’m supposed to be offended, it’s funny. Why are there scam centers because id--t Americans fall for the scams, your mom probably gave out her credit card information lol. Why y’all bi--h and cry about vaccines and how much you all hate your job, we will gladly work them and do it better than you.

No coin, but I have a stainless steel star shaped keychain with SBC etched into the star. It's really nice, think I received it for going above and beyond the call of duty.

Anyone still have the SBC coin given at divestiture?
Proud Past, Not so bright Future.

No need to be concerned. Domestic employees aren’t the goal.
