Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

What the Flock

See a whole lotta trolling, ranting responses to what I see as yes d u m b - a r s e posts not even remotely related to the board is all about. Layoffs. Too bad we can’t all get together and focus to actually do something collectively with regards to what’s really going on with not only T but most other huge telcos. They cry they don’t have skilled labor. Yet continue to lay off talent. They cry no work , yet T has been suppressing issuing trouble tickets on network elements that have been deemed critical and essential to national security. Even better they have people overseas handling surveillance of our networks. I’m sure the p u s s y patrol that loves to rant at every post will find something to say about this post. Wether it be an intelligent response or some random response about how aliens get a better pension on Mars. My point is - if you’re actually still reading LOL is that unless we get together and DO something about this nothing will change.

Are you HOPING for a board chock full of layoff news??

I think most of us are actually relieved when there are no current layoff announcements, but, each to their own.........

It’s always been every man for himself. Nothing will change. Like someone said on here… smile and wave. But wave like the queen! Milk them for as much $$$ you can get and go do whatever the f a r k you want to do. We are all just a number, a cog, a piece of dirt under the higher echelons shoe. We are replaceable and until we get sent off, I’m going to milk this m o f o until there’s no more milk !

The best thing any of you can do is find better employment than this place. With today's job market you can easily find a much better employer with better wages than having to look forward to coming to AT&T every day.

If you want change, start with yourself.

They have done those shenanigans for years it is their standard operating procedure. Complain they have no talent but refuse to give the work to the people they have employed. They want constant turnover is the only reason I can think of for their behavior. Att is a mismanaged cesspool and anybody thinking of working there should run far far away.

I used to care about my job. I used to have passion for the customer. I used to have deep pride in my career.

I was always a high performer. A mentor for others and always a leader in whatever group I was surplussed or promoted any given year.

Then the company made it clear they would be openly hostile and threatening over my livelihood pertaining my personal health decisions.

At that point I stopped caring. T finally beat it out of me. Guess I'm just one of those old guys I used to complain about now. I've jumped through a lot of hoops for the company over the years, but this old dog ain't going to be jabbed with an unproven, experimental shot against their will.

They don't care.
You can rally hundreds of people and they'll just put a target on all of you.
You will change nothing. You are the dirt under their floormat.
They are way too big to move quickly, and too arrogant to realize they need to.
Stop stressing. Realize just what we "peons" are to them.
We are an expense. So since that is how they view us, try to be a very large expense.
Profit.
Smile and wave.
The more they F things up the easier it is to make $$$.
And at the end of the day, that's all that matters.

Not only do the aliens on Mars get better pensions, they get better severance payouts too.

"people overseas handling surveillance of our networks"

This is true, and not just surveillance, but also critical changes and upgrades. I would love to see a national news network do an expose of this scandal.

Is this a potential national security issue?
