Has anyone heard that T is reducing the 6 month severance down to 3 months starting in 2022? A colleague of mine said he read that but I can’t find anything to confirm. At this point, nothing would really surprise me. Thanks and good luck to all of you wherever you work.

They should get rid of the employee discount. Let everyone see what the real cost is, so they knew why customers expect high quality service.
Santone is doing an excellent job of ridding T of all benefits. Benchmarking T's bennies to the bottom of the barrel. What's next? Cut out pet health insurance, eliminate adoption assistance? Other than vacation and 401K match, can't think of any other bennies worth cutting, simply put, no payback.
I wouldn't doubt it. A lot of other companies have gone to 3 months severance. There were rumors a while back about this.
Yet another reason not to go into management at this company.
Maybe announcement to 3 months before 12-1 as an added incentive for tenured employees to leave.
My org is also hiring contractors, one who has already left. AT&T can’t afford widespread new hires.
I can't answer for other orgs, but in mine, several employees have left or are leaving and their replacements are coming from contract houses both onshore and offshore. My org is not hiring new direct employees.
Yup. We hear the same rumor every year.
Easy to layoff people, much harder to hire people. Pay isn’t competitive, promotions and career growth are limited. If you have marketable and in demand skills, why would you want to come and work here?
IT OPS is where to go for jobs if you have the skill set. They seem to be hiring all over even though there’s very little work. It’s typically very slow towards year end with techs sitting around with nothing to do, but they’re hiring more techs regardless! Doesn’t look like layoffs anytime soon in IT.
I understand that HR/staffing is getting crushed by all the hiring that is going on. New employee intake is taking almost a month.
Yes, it will changing to 3 months.
Hire new and fire the older higher salaried lawyers. What’s interesting is Legal was just offered a package in the 4th qtr if 2020. Why offer a package and then hire now. With such great decisions made at the top, is it any wonder why our stock is in the toilet.
Was on the town hall today with Igal, and they are in a hiring frenzy apparently. What gives?
Not enough people want work for the non-competitive salaries according to him, so they have to adjust the TSR? My team picked up 3 new hires within 6 months, and another hire is coming soon. Why hire, and then layoff? Wouldn't surprise me but WTF?
All benefits subject to change. Santone benchmarking to other companies most who have no or minimal severance. I'd expect cuts but haven't seen anything in writing
The official policy can be found on HROnestop. Yes it can be changed but i have heard nothing on that.
I heard you severance will be reversed starting in 2022. Employees will pay 3 months salary when they let go.
Cannot confirm, but Santone has been reducing all benefits. Would not surprise me if this turns out to be true since layoffs will ramp up in January 2022. It is going to be a bloodbath.
