Is the Enticing Dividend in AT&T Stock Just a Trap?

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/enticing-dividend-t-stock-just-144235438.html

You’ve heard the saying that something could be too good to be true. On Wall Street that is an important concept, especially when it comes to dividends. Under normal circumstances, when a stock offers 8% in dividends I get leery. Today we will consider if there is a red flag with AT&T (NYSE:T) stock for that reason.

Last line of the article: "There is one more thing to consider, however, when you read through my analysis here. I’ve done business with AT&T from the consumer side in almost all of its segments. I’ve regretted each one of them, so perhaps my negative bias against owning shares comes from that."

Sadly, that describes the state of AT&T. Even as an employee, I've had horrible customer service to the point of turning off some of my discounted services to go to a better provide. This really says it all!

In an era of low inflation, dividends work out. But if the Fed's unending money printing indeed leads to much higher inflation, then there could be a problem with all dividend paying stocks.

Stankey will need to pull a rabbit out of his hat to make 4th quarter earnings estimate. Should be interesting. T share price down by over $20 since 01/01/2021. Hard to swallow that kind of loss.

T just dropped to $24,96, how low can it go? Is Stankey feeling the heat yet?

And don't forget, we still own 70% of DTV, and after the TW spinoff, T will still own much of the Discovery spinoff. The $100B of debt the Rat wasted will still be present, and have to be paid by T.

Smoke and mirrors was attmpted by the Stink to try to hide this debt. It did not work!

Both Ratty and Stink effectively borrowed $ at near 0% to pay the dividends. But Ratty and Stink seemed to effectively fool all the Wall Street MBAs for years. T's form of financial engineering? But the train is about to go off the rails.

The shareholders have been taking a bath and will take a huge bath next year. T is following GE into the single digits, yet the Rat and Stink remain. They got to get that last buck outta T!

Who got taken more? The shareholders, the employees or the customers? All suffered pretty well thanks to the Rat and Stink.

Thanks Rat and Stink, you guys are infamous - at the top of the CEO Wall of Shame!

For the love of god….. the BOD needs to wake up and hand JTS a freaking parachute. There is no trust with the street and employees. Enough is enough.

Share price keeps dropping, dividend will drop by half at WM spinoff. Debt at 180B. Not much to celebrate at T. How long can Stankey last as CEO?
