It's always the same thing to do with no chance for growth whatsoever. When I joined AT&T I didn't expect to be stuck in the same position for so long. When you do your interview they promise you so many things but once you start most of it turns out not to be true. At least I've learned a valuable lesson for the future.

That post is kind of funny. You don't seem to realize H.R. people are trying to sell as big of a sack of cr@p to you, as you are trying to sell to them.....
Number 1 rule anyone should learn is: Whether it is 3 years or 30 years. 90+% of new hires will leave at the same level as they arrived.
Promotions are rigged in T. Same is Carrier Path. Both are jokes here.
you would be wise to leave - att cesspool don't deserve people with a conscious.
to all new employees thinking of applying run run run the other way and don't have anything to do with the cesspool called att. there is nothing good about att period
@xqv, unfortunately most of the career path jobs are just farce. Tailor made for "friends"...
Don't feel bad. Look at the people running the company. Getting ahead in ATT is obviously not about being the best or the brightest.
Promotions and progressions within the same organization are often nonexistent. I've worked on several interesting projects by moving to other organizations. I found it easier to contact managers directly than to try going through the career path application.
Being a minority, LGBTQ, etc also helps as well as a friend high up and the right location. Promotion based on performance only is not happening
Promotions are all rigged and setup by friends of friends , you can have more experience then them combined it doesn’t mean anything .
They don’t promote based on actual experience.
The challenge with growth at ATT is that it's much slower than at other companies. If you hire in at entry level, there are generations of people lined up for promotions ahead of you. All waiting for someone to retire.
If you hire in at mid level, they give the promotions to the people who have been with the company since entry level since they "know the (failing) business". You'll be promoted, but only after you have more years than they do.
maybe its not att ...maybe it is you not knowing how to make friends to get promoted.
The only growth at T is the growth in Ratty, Stink's and the BoD bank accounts.
US based employees are an impediment to their bank account growth.
