Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Zero Regard for Employees

I resigned a few weeks ago and have one day left. Not one person in HR has reached out to provide info on 401k, COBRA, anything. I'm not surprised; however, the total lack of support of employees in this company is one of about 173 reasons I left. It's just unprofessional and is a reason why this board is fresh of ongoing posts from frustrated people. You think Bei Ling will fix it all? Hahaha!

Why oh why, would anyone even be a customer here either I do not know. I'm sure not and never will be.

So you expect everything to be handed to you on a plate?

Did you not check teamwork’s first…

Sounds like we are losing a “hard worker”. Sucks for us.

Good luck

It is 100% your direct manager's job to provide you with all of the exit information and paperwork. You have a cr---y manager if you have one day left and you haven't received any information!

RTO is one thing they know exactly how to accomplish. Require it, wave "bye" to those that refuse, break out the champagne and enjoy the superior efficiency ratio. It's not exactly rocket surgery.

The truth is they rejoice when someone leaves, that's one last package they have to pay out. Leadership does not care that the good people are the ones leaving - they just will expect everyone to pick up the slack. I know for a fact they know morale is plummeting yet DO NOT CARE. RTO is a disaster - they are forcing it down everyone's throats yet have no clue how to accomplish it.

Agree with OP. Mgr should at min. do what they are asked to do. Resigned earlier this month and used manager center to get the pdf info of all numbers needed post employment as my mgr didn't follow through. Mgr only initiated term checklist. Was told stuff left to be mailed when RTO completes, but a former teammate working at my new org received most (not all) of their belongings about 1 month after leaving. Seems my last day aligned with the last layoff date and now receiving info on cobra and filing unemployment.... maybe HR is just following a term checklist ? Happy to have moved on.....

The same happened to me, not even my manager reach out to inform me of anything.
I have arranged everything myself including getting my stuff back. I did received an email re: exit interview, 2 weeks after my last day.
Haven’t respond yet.

Haven't heard if exit interviews are still done. I would imagine, between attrition and layoffs, no staff.

There are automatic communications triggered by your termination. Technically, you aren't terminated yet

When you leave regardless of the reason if you have personal items in the office please reach out to your manager when RTO actually happens, there are admins there that will help make sure you get your items returned to you when we can physically go in the office.

I resigned a few weeks ago.. and what are you looking for exactly, warm hugs from HR and a financial counselor? Own it and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Unfortunately, that's actually how the "support model" is designed. There is no team in HR that reaches out to employees as they are leaving. The responsibility is put on your manager to help you find what you're looking for on your way out.

There is a 'Leaving Wells Fargo' section on Teamworks...

Why would someone reach out to you to ask you if you have any questions? That would be a very inefficient use of resources. If you have questions, ask them.

@OP, you’ll get information on COBRA mailed to your home about 2 weeks after your resignation becomes official. If you had anything in the cash balance plan, you can call HR and request a distribution packet. A me with the 401k if you want to roll it over to another company or a financial advisor.

Make sure your PTO is accurate and you have canceled any scheduled PTO you had. If you have more accrued PTO than you have taken, you’ll get that amount paid out in your final paycheck. However if you’ve taken more than you’ve accrued, you’ll have that amount deducted from your final paycheck. Just something to be aware of.

Good luck on your next adventure-

Wells Fargo leads with the “serve yourself” philosophy. The information is out there, buried deep within the maze of Teamworks, InfoMAX, Benefits Handbooks, etc. You are expected to go find what you need for yourself, and if you can’t find it - you’ll have to hold for untold amounts of time on some phone tree. And then get transferred around several times. Unfortunately, we now provide that same mediocre level of service to our FAs and our clients. It’s all about the cost cutting. Excellence went out the door years ago.

All they did was ask for their sh-t back when I left. I asked for my sh-t back too, but I'm sure I'll never get it.

So you are quitting and you expected someone to hold your hand on the way out the door?
