Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

The people they have been hiring

Recruitment is often a crucial part of any business strategy. However this strategy is very strange here, and what it will bring is very questionable.
Is it easier now than ever to get a job at ATT? I wonder if the people this company is now hiring could even be considered for hiring here a few years ago? I don't think so.

the brain surgeons we have been hiring are all 10 cents short of a nickel. Millennials. They last about a month or two at best and leave.

HR is doing the exact opposite by recommending higher wages to be competitive

They are not. HR only raises salary bands when forced to by uncontrollable attrition or inability to get candidates to accept offers

Get rid of as many US based workers as possibly either by making them miserable working in T's toxic environment or rebadging them. Hire their replacements in India or bring them over by the plane load. No problem that we need double the number over there!

They dare not B I T C H when we are holding their green card!

HR is doing the exact opposite by recommending higher wages to be competitive. D-mb a-s business units are the ones trying to save a buck which results in cr-p being hired. AT&T is playing a vicious cycle of revolving door, folks leaving a greater rate than coming in. Not sustainable.

HR wants to push the average wage down, because they get credit for "managing payroll expense". Pay peanuts get monkeys, but that's not their problem.

The rest follows from there

Do union ppl work in call centers?

they need more people to use as a bargaining chip with the union. they need them to do strike duty in case the union strikes. so they don't care as long as they can cover call center work and climb polls.
