Why do some here think that ATT should have already closed all retail stores?
People work there and it will hurt them a lot if they lose their jobs, and on the other hand I don't even see that closing stores leads to any big improvement here. The situation in any case is getting worse day by day.

I doubt AT&T will ever be transparent enough to be truthful in their closings rationale, whether they were profitable or not. Just as they were silent on those stores looted and damaged in 2019-2020 because it wasn't politically expedient to discuss it.
How many of these stores are actually profitable, I would suggest not many, if any.
Retail will be here! Who else is gonna fix all the AR, Wal mart , Sams, Prime etc mistakes! Proven fact overseas call centers cant and yeah dont forgot all the IHX cr-p that comes into stores because they dont return phone calls or text to customers!
The people will only lose their jobs if the stores aren't needed in the first place. If the store is valuable, then a 3rd party will reopen it and those people you are worried about can work for them with probably better benefits than the cr-p we get.
Why should ATT mobility run retail stores in the first place?
So they can cross sell you TV service and landline phone? That dog won't hunt
Fruad, that is why. As an AT&T employee that wants to support other AT&T employees, you could not melt and pour me into an AT&T mobilty store for anything. Sorry, but that is just the way it is.
