Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

If an employee is retirement eligible, does accepting a VSIP affect that?

Specifically, I am a bargained for employee, age (post 65) and years of service (29) qualified for retirement . If I accepted a VSIP, would I be able to collect the termination benefits and then also be able to claim pension benefit at the same time, or would there be complications?

@1jsr+1cvRPuws You could get unemployment if you voluntarily leave, but it depends on your reason for leaving. Check with State law.

You are entitled to all, and unemployment if a VSIP.

Vsip at retirement age means your retired and can collect your pension. You’ll get an HR number to call with your packet on the last day as an AT&T employee.

Yes..this is what many pray for. Get laid off (you might also qualify for unemployment) and collect your pension.
