Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Those LinkedIn posts by the XOM elite that are starting surface more and more

They almost always begin with "I'm sure by now you've seen the many posts about someone's last day at ExxonMobil...", and then they proceed to talk about how they've been inspired to share something different regarding employment at the company. What follows is a nauseating, self-congratulatory career autobiography that paints an unrealistic picture of what a career at XOM is like for the vast majority of people. The most recent one I tried to read (but couldn't finish) by a mister G. K. PhD, was as bad as they get.

Why do these people feel the need to share this sh-t in response to people's posts about doing what is best for themselves and leaving a toxic company and environment? What are their underlying motivations? Instead of glorifying a corporation that has fu---d multitudes of people over and is bringing itself to the brink of destruction through it's ineptitude and abhorrent management & leadership, why aren't these brilliant thought-leaders taking a hard look at why the attrition is so high, why the culture and environment so toxic, and posting thoughtful commentary on that? The cynic in me believes they're motivated purely by self-interest. Their actions are just another strategic move in an attempt to gain favor with other like-minded XOMbies and those above them.

Totes!

I saw a self congratulatory one by Justin. I thought, dude - people left because of you. He’s leaving a trail of destruction along his climb. I don’t know what he thinks he’ll lead in his next 15 years, but he got the response from the sycophants who think they too be along for the ride.

Disgusting.

Industry is dying. Workers are sick of it and are leaving. #Exxodus

As most people have left XOM, there is nobody on yammer anymore.
So, all that yammer activity (brown nosing, showing fake loyalty and sucking up to superiors) has shifted to LinkedIn.
It’s pathetic.

I’m going to assume the best, and say it makes some lifers sad to see the downward spiral. It’s a bit weird, but cannot imagine it is ill-intentioned. It is also validating high levels of attrition to the outside, which may not have otherwise been obvious if you weren’t specifically following the other EM peers.

Unbeknownst to them - best indicator that your roof is infested is you have traps in the attic ! These posts are also an indicator of problem that is now being publicized. But that requires two neurons to understand, and they are one neuron short of a synapse.

Many of the people making those sorts of posts, especially EMIT ones, are the worst of the worst in terms of sunflower managers and “yes men/women”.

Thank god CSR is in Annandale NJ, otherwise, the imbeciles from CSR would be taking pictures under the cube all day long with their fake positivity to impress Syrup like bosses.

Because they sold themselves out and can’t handle the notion that others did not drink the koolaide, and even went to greener pastures. It’s humorous and sad all at once. Newsflash - those who left don’t care about your thoughts on their ex-employer. You might even be part of the reason they are gone.

There is a guy on my LinkedIn that posts everyday, and it cracks me up. Before I got laid off, I requested a cost estimate from this person for my budget work. He called me up and said be patient with me, I’ve never done this type of work before. Fast forward 2 months, this clueless individual is now a manager (in the discipline he knew nothing about). That my friends is a microcosm of why this company is a flaming bag of dog po-p.

These linkedin posts are from crooks and snakes coming out of their holes. There are some who are always trying to find new ways to suck up to their superiors.

OP, yes I noticed that too. Too many of them now, like a new movement. To me, that looks like a middle finger that they are showing to former EM employees who were either let-go or voluntarily left. They are saying "I am still here, and you're not." It's so pathetic.
