I've worked from home successfully for years. Now have to RTO, but which office? Concord? SF? Local branch? I know they want to get rid of all CA workers (preferably through "natural" attrition), but in the meantime, am I supposed to drive that far to an office?
I also heard they are making exceptions already and that is upsetting if some in Sacramento, etc. get to WFH without valid reason. Employees are going to be vocal if there's favoritism at play with RTO/WFH.
There is a Wells Fargo Mortgage 5 minutes from my house. Be nice if I could grab a desk there. My Wells office (not mortgage) is sometimes an hour going back home. But I also know that they are not requiring us to be back in the office every day. A few days a week is fine.
I would also suggest you to to cpg site where you can pull up a list of all offices by location.

Doesn't have to be a hub, has to be an office where they can provide a seat/desk. This can be in the form of a FT desk, or neighboring seating.
Depends on your lob; but there’s capitol mall in Sacramento- not a hub but at least an office. Concord is a hub for some; same with sf.
You get 60 days to decide then get severance. This ultimatum was given to my group last week, so you will probably be notified soon. Basically, by the beginning of 2022, everyone should have been notified and in their hub or gone.

You have to be less than 45 miles.
