Because the ATT building stink, almost as bad as Stinky. No TP, no hand soap, no paper towels. And I will not mention the smell of some of my co-workers, or the smell of the garbage they eat!
Agree with the list of 10 reasons, also no one in my office does exactly what I do so it doesn’t matter where I am, my managers are in another state. At home I can block out the fact that most of my work group goofs off because I don’t have to see them not doing their jobs. Most of us have proved we can get the work done at home and there is no wasting time with ‘water cooler’ conversations.
In one word......freedom!

Yes, let us be real. AT&T tries to sc--w employees as much as possible. Up until recently, "management" has been immune to the toxicity AT&T. That is over.

I am sure you realize that the majority of our workforce has been reporting to work from day one and building, maintaining, and installing our services. Working from home is not an option for them. It is definitely a benefit for those that are able to WFH, and like many other benefits that have come about as the result of this pandemic, people have gotten comfortable and don’t want to give them up.

my company learned from covid said they will implement a part time work from home policy permanently. 2 to 3 days work from home every week. everyone is really happy and stock price is shooting up.
this means everyone not just the chosen few who seem to be able to work from permanently and are free to move around the country like moving out of California without a salary adjustment to the midwest at att. att is so mismanaged it is a joke.
to me part time is the best of both worlds and EVERYONE gets to benefit not just the chosen few who think they are above everyone else just because they never admit they make a mistake and are perfect like Georgie W. Bush lol.

Through various re-orgs, I am the only person in my team in my city, state, and time zone. Going to the office and work from home isn’t any different. I actually worked longer hours at home, getting in on early meetings when I would be commuting. I’m extending these flexibilities to my team and customers. I would be less effective in the office, pretty sure many people are in the same boat.
I don’t mind going back to office, no skin off my back. What is ironic is these executives who scream in person collaboration like it was magic bullet to solve all problems. They obviously have no clue on how people get work done.
For those who say jobs will be farmed out to India if remote work can satisfy the requirements. In office jobs are being outsourced all the same. If you think that you have some influence over these decisions by going to the office, hate to burst your bubble, that is a mistake. Better invest the energy to find a new job and determine your own destiny.
It should be made permanent to work from home. We are just as productive from home than at work. ATT is a dinasour and needs to get with the program and get some young blood in upper management that’s with the times
ATT is 11th most profitable company in the US but it’s too cheap to get union workers laptops to work from home. Laptops only go to the d-mbasses in management. My step son who works for the 49th most profitable company (won’t say the name) is on hybrid permanently just has to go to office 4x a month and company gave them laptops to work from hone.

Great Question. For me it’s simple. At the office I had to be on phones which is very stressful. At home I do not have to use the phone so there is no stress involved. I can also do other things for enjoyment when it gets slow. At the office you are being watched like a hawk. No thanks!

My 2-cents
Took retirement 3 years ago from the company and was both a full time and part time telecommuter, it worked well for me and my peers.
One of the biggest benefits is savings on auto use and gasoline usage. During the peak of the 2020 pandemic there was a reduction in smog and cleaner air in metro areas due to less commuting. The visible proof manifested itself beyond doubt.
Our country and the world should investigate more incentives for companies to encourage a more work from home culture, just for this reason.

Wow, never saw this happening but thankful just the same. Better than a raise in pay, no commuting expenses, including expensive lunches out. I can keep up with laundry, pay bills, clean house, cut the grass, and maintain the flower beds around the house. Best thing to happen at T in a long time, I have 19 years to go until retirement, hopefully I can WTH until then.

It should be optional. We proved we can WFH throughout this COVID cr-p. ATT is a communications company.. sooooo.. you should be able to communicate from anywhere/anytime.
After taking away the earned vacation, reducing pay scale, taking pre-Medicare medical, and about to take away tv discounts, it’s about the only good benefit left. Costs of commuting and eating lunch out would be another pay cut. Saving money by not stopping for coffee and biscuits on the way in.
Anyone that I need to collaborate with, I need to call. No one is in my location. Including my supervisor.
Building and bathrooms are disgusting.

- No mask wearing all day
- Commuting time (up to 2 hrs round trip)
- No collaboration going on in the office
- Can do my job from any location
- Wear/tear on my vehicle
- Can run to the school if needed within minutes
- More productive
- Less stress of spreading/contracting COVID.
- Only those needing to go into the office need to be vaxxed, so it will be my choice of getting vaxxed.
Just a few ...
I know there are some conveniences, but it shouldn't be enough to make you want to quit if it's gone.
